One of the biggest movie franchises out right now, The Twilight Saga, is just about ready to release it’s second installment, New Moon. With most big movies there is a big soundtrack to match and New Moon’s soundtrack is packed full of the more indie artists than you can wish for; very appropriate for the type of movie it is. There are contributions from The Killers, Lykke Li, Thom Yorke, Muse, OK Go, etc…
“A White Demon Love Song” performed by The Killers is mostly comprised of drums and some strings. It is a few notches above acoustic and is a sound very familiar to the band with an uphill effect as the song progresses. Brandon Flowers’ vocals fit the instrumentation quite well and sounds like a song the could have appeared on Sam’s Town.

Lykke Li’s “Possibility” contains the singer’s light and frothy vocals over an eerie instrumental. The song seems fairly raw but the simplicity of the song still can rival a big production song. Lovin’ the piano on this.

Radiohead’s frontman, Thom Yorke, contributes “Hearing Damage” to the soundtrack. Like some other Radiohead and Yorke songs it has a prolonged intro of just instrumentation before Yorke’s signature blurred vocals pop in over the percussion. It’s not too long before Yorke’s vocals exit the scene leaving the listener with a little less than 2 minutes of just instruments to listen to.
