Not too long ago, Timbaland Presents Shock Value II leaked onto the net. The wait has been a long one with the album’s original release date being marked at the end of 2008. So was the almost-year delay worth the wait?
In a nutshell, HELL NO! As songs from the project started to leak in LQ we were so pumped for this album then the HQ started come around. We became bi-polar towards this album; one song put us in a state of high then the next kept us low and unsatisfied. The song has a track list of 17 songs and of that, there are only 5 that stand out to us…
Do not get us wrong, ALL of the songs would fit perfectly on Shock Value but the issue with that is that sound was fresh and exciting… back in 2007. Since then, everyone and their damn family had a Timbaland produced song and even the producer with the Midas touch didn’t have enough magic to keep the music lovers impressed. Even with the more alternative artists such as OneRepublic, Daughtry, Jet, etc.. he was not able to create a gem like “Apologize.”
In conclusion, …Shock Value II is decent compilation of songs from Timbaland; nothing horrible and nothing spectacular.

Timbaland – We Belong to Music feat. Miley Cyrus
The first single from Timbaland’s Shock Value II gets a mini movie. “Morning After Dark” featuring So-Shy feeds off the current phenomenon that is Twilight and mixes up a storyline that consists of vampires.
Hahah, Timbaland makes the most ridiculous facial expressions. He can’t dance so he expresses his music through his face. Overall, the video was a bust; it wasn’t too successful in creating humor because that definitely was not supposed to be serious. Give it a view!
The video premiere for Shakira’s second US single premiered at 3pm EST. The video is for the Timbaland produced “Give It Up to Me” featuring Lil Wayne.
WOW! Is this really what pushed the album back 2 months for the US release? She Wolf is perfect as is and they think this lackluster Timbaland joint is going to make the album a success? Then this cheap video, it’s obvious Shakira and Lil Wayne weren’t even together during the shoot. They just merged both of them into one scene on a green screen. Both the song and video are a big disappointment.
Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 has been hit and miss so far, mostly miss but there are one or two songs that stand out. The Miley Cyrus collaboration is one of them. The two came together for a song entitled “We Belong to Music.”
Most would wonder how an über pop singer like Cyrus would fit with an urban producer like Timbaland but the outcome is one catchy made for radio hit. Plus, we think Cyrus already garnered a whole new set of fans with the ultra catchy “Party In the USA.” This will even sound better on a booming sound system. With this being one of the few songs from Shock Value 2 that’s decent we hope there are at least a few more because we miss the Midas touch of Timbaland from 2006.
It’s been awhile hasn’t it? Of the many studio quality leaks from Shock Value 2, we finally have a Justin Timberlake cut. This one is entitled “Carry Out.”
Is this 2006/2007 again? Only because new music from Timberlake these days is less frequent but this sounds like a B-Side from one of the better Timbo-Timber collaborations. The instrumentation does have a bit of a swagger but it’s average at best.
We’re laughing a lot lately… Why does the LQ club recordings of the songs from Shock Value 2 sound better than the CDQ studio versions?

Well it appears as though Super Music Monday (Lady GaGa, Rihanna, Jay Sean, Birdman, 50 Cent) has lost an artist. Timbaland’s album, Shock Value 2, has been pushed back to December 8, 2009. He will now be competing against other urban artsists such as Gucci Mane, Snoop Dogg, Robin Thicke…
It doesn’t matter that much, Shock Value 2 seems to be chalked full of hot songs but the thing is we’ve heard ‘em all before. Don’t get us wrong we’re still excited for the release but not as excited as we’ve been to hear new Timbaland in the past. One leak sounds like a banger and then the next reminds us that it’s not that great.
Speaking of the album, yet another song has leaked entitled “Ease Off the Liquor.” The song is six minutes long and is pretty good. Give it a listen we’re sure you all should find it hot.

Well, the third time is the charm. It took three leaks of the same song and now the CDQ of Timbaland’s “Say Something” featuring Drake is here.
Get into this mid-tempo flow. This is one of the better productions from Timbaland this era; it has pail tones of epic but its chill nature keeps the song in check. This beat encourages slow head rocking. Also, Drake, the singer and rapper, is on this track which is good because we can honestly say we don’t like either by itself but together they make a perfect match. Even though Shock Value 2 is an evolution of the first instead of a revolution we’re liking what we hear. Now bring on that Miley Cyrus “We Belong to Music.”

An unexpected leak from Shock Value 2 comes to us in the form of “Rumors” featuring Jay-Z & Keri Hilson.
It’s a hot track but then again which song isn’t from Timbaland. Unfortunately, this song falls under the spell of most things Timbaland from late 2007 and on. We’ve been hearing this same song over and over since then. Shock Value was directly related to the first album’s content because it was fresh, innovative; Timbaland just had the Midas touch. Now, it seems like he’s re-releasing the album almost three years later because whilst all the music is BANGIN’ we’re too familiar with it. Hopefully this song does not make the final tracklist.

Earlier this morning Timbaland stopped by “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” to premiere the first single to the follow-up of 2007′s Shock Value, Shock Value 2. The single features Timbaland’s artst, SoShy, who is from Paris, France.
It appears this really is the second-coming of Shock Value because if this single is a start of how this album will sound then we’re in for some club bangas. “Morning After Dark” does not catch us as amazing at first but after each new listen we like it more and more. Our favorite parts are the hook and the instrumentation breakdown near the end; bass banga! Let’s hope SoShy does not fade into the darkness like other Timbaland artists i.e. Bubba Sparxxx, Petey Pablo, Sebastian, Magoo, D.O.E., Ms. Jade…
