• Demi Lovato Puts The Power In Her Voice In “Lightweight”

  Demi Lovato is back in good form after her personal battles went public earlier this year. The Disney graduate is about to release her latest album, Unbroken, but as with most things music, there’s a leak. We gave the album a listen and that voice, oh that voice. The voice makes the album but there a few tracks that stand out on their own. “Lightweight” is one that stands tall.

  “Lightweight” was produced and written by Jim Beanz along with Frankie Storm and Shanna Crooks. All of them are out of Timbaland‘s camp. Lyrically, Lovato sings of her delicate and sensitive nature but sings with so much power. The harmonies and melody are so heavenly. We are hooked on to this track, just love it. • Three Tracks Leak From Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E.

  The tracks are leaking one by one off of Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. LP. Solid as always but Brown’s music has yet to reach anything near the caliber of a comeback prince. Take a listen to three tracks below.

  “Rock, Paper, Scissors” features Big Sean and Timbaland. Assuming this is produced by Timbaland, this is one of the weaker tracks to leak from the album.

  Chris Brown samples SWV’S “Right Here,” which sampled Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature,” for “She Ain’t You.” I guess it takes a sample of a classic because this song is nice.

  In a recent interview, Chris Brown speaks about his peers coming around now that he is riding high on the charts. Well it is definitely true as Justin Bieber jumps on “Next 2 U.” If this was 2009, or even 2010 you know this collab would not be possible. The song is what you would expect from a midtempo from the two.

• Week 2: Timbaland Thursdays “Round Da Way Tim”

  After previewing another Timbaland Thursday jam with Missy Elliott yesterday, the plan was changed to a solo track from the producer. The single is entitled “Round Da Way Tim.”

  The production contains some snapping, clapping, beat boxing and other signature sound effects from Tim. If this was 5-6 years ago it would go perfectly with the “Lean Wit It, Rock Wit It” dance.

• Timbaland Thursdays Begin With Missy Elliott In “Take Ur Clothes Off”

  First it was Kanye West, then it was Swizz Beatz and now it’s Timbaland. Yes, super-producer Timbaland has nabbed himself a weekday to unleash free music under the name of Timbaland Thursdays. Timbo teased his Twitter followers as he left the guest feature a mystery up until the release. Well he brought oout some old music family, Missy Elliott, for the first release, “Take Ur Clothes.”

  The club track is very much in the same vein as West’s “Good Friday” tracks; the music is good but doesn’t scream single. Aside from that, we’re just glad to hear some new Missy Elliott in 2011; Missy Elliott >>> all the other females in the genre. It’s only week one and Timbaland is impressing the listeners. Wonder if he’ll release his “Monster” in this Thursday series? *”Monster,” by popular and critical opinion, was the best release out of Kanye West’s Good Friday releases*

• YA LIE! Justin Timberlake to Record 3rd Studio LP Next Year

  If this news turns to be 100% true then 2011 will have one huge reason to be considered a great year of music.

  Super producer and long-time Justin Timberlake collaborator, Timbaland, recently opened up a Twitter account. Because of that, one overzealous Justin Timberlake supporter flooded Timbaland with questions about Timberlake’s next album. In a surprise tweet, Timbaland replied:

  not til next year. we goin’ in

  Another one of those vague tidbits to make a supporter go crazy eh? Well it gets a bit deeper as Timberlake hinted at his muscal comeback at his annual Vegas charity:

  “Don’t be pissed off that I’m an actor, it’s not over. And when I come back, I’m come harder. Cause that’s right, I’m doing me. I’m living life right now man and this what I’m gonna do til it’s over, but it’s far from over.” [SOURCE]

  Coincidentally covering Drake, the Canadian rapper spoke in a recent interview with FUSEtv about plans for himself and Timberlake to collaborate, very soon. So after 5 years it looks like we may get a new Justin Timberlake album. Three album albums in ten years; you all know how we prefer quality over quantity.

• New Look, New Single; Keri Hilson Kicks Off Her Sophomore Era

  Keri Hilson’s sophomore LP was supposed to be out from May but pushbacks and delays are all too common for musical acts today. Well about 3 months later, the first single, “Breaking Point,” from Hilson’s sophomore effort, No Boys Allowed, is here:

  “Breaking Point” was written by Keri Hilson and produced by superproducer Timbaland. “ No Boys Allowed” is slated for a Late 2010 release and a video for the song will be shot in Atlanta early September. The song is about that breaking point that every woman gets to when the excuses given by boys are no longer accepted.Keri comments “ If you’re not man enough to step to the plate, then keep it moving”.

  Well for one, Hilson’s new look is scary and secondly the single is decent. The single should do well; for those ladies who need a song to speak up for them. Hilson’s vocals are pretty as usual and it’s a splash in the face to see her go after a soulful sound rather than the Dance/Pop.

• Brandy & Timbaland Go “Home”…

  With a new reality television show coming up and unreleased songs surfacing on the net, could this be a a hint that Brandy is to release a new LP soon or at least start to record one. On her last LP, Human, Timbaland contributed some of his better work in the last long while and this morning a new track from the two has magically appeared. It is not known whether “Home,” produced by Timbaland, is a last album leftover or something for the future.

  The song is mediocre at best which makes the song seem more leftover than future magic. It’s an alright listen but blah blah blahhh…

  The video is definitely one of the better to come out of this era with its drive-through theme and neat lighting effects… that’s all. When is Justin going to bless us all with some new music?

  Despite Timbaland’s Shock Vallue II failing in success, compared to its predecessor, it has not stopped the music videos for the singles from rolling out. In the newest video from the album, a game of back and forth theft is present throughout (despite the whole plot making absolutely no sense) along with a variety of facial expressions from Katy Perry and Timbaland.

  This is one of the standout tracks from the album and the video does the song justice. Although Katy Perry isn’t apart of the storyline she looks luxurious with her classy get-up. The music break in the end that goes from song to club crazy turns the tables (more…)
