It’s been about a year since he released his mixtape Dream Music but now Sosa Man is back on the scene with his new album (yeah that’s right, album) Dreamland. The album features big names like Showtime Shaddy, Sketch, MDeez, Sammi Starr, Alex C., Black Dadda and El Padrino. Before you get into the review, learn about the artist, Sosa Man, HERE.
On our most recent trip to the studio, we bumped into upcoming Bahamian recording artist “Sakinah.” The single “I Miss” (produced by Sketch) has a J. Holiday feel, coupled with rich vocals that remind us of Brandy. If this is just a start for Sakinah then we can’t wait to see what else she brings to the table, 2011 watch out.

The guy with the smooth beats and vocals, Sketch, is releasing a new single, produced by himself and written and co-wriiten by himself and Kieran Chase. “Once Upon a Time” will hit Bahamian radio waves this week.
Sketch’s brand new jam starts off midtempo to warm up the listener then the tempo picks up and the bass kicks in. The hyper Pop/Dance beat sets off and his “party” song is is full motion. Here’s what he had to say about the why he created his latest:
“I was in the studio thinking about what I should do next as a new single and started listening to Taio Cruz – Dynamite, Flo Rida – Club Cant Handle Me then Jessica Jarrell – Up And Running and realized that i didn’t have any party songs. So I got to the midi keyboard right away and started working on the track while Keiran Chase helped me with lyrics & Once Upon A Time was born.” [SOURCE]

Two summers ago, a little song by the name of “Phone Card” saturated Bahamian radio waves. Every single Bahamian knew that song; the cultural Rake n Scrape hit home with the older generation and the theme of minutes and cellular phones hit the SIM cards hard for the younger generation.
Now, in the summer of 2010 the voice behind “Phone Card,” KC, is here again going after a much more mainstream sound. The Sketch produced “Our Love” is a very catchy and ditty tune made for radio. It will surely catch on with The Bahamians, we like dem type o’ tingz…
The song is melodically appealing and this being what, KC’s third song, it seems as though the music path is really something he is pushing for. As of right now, he can be or pretty much is a national sensation but internationally he will have to take it up 100 degrees in a slightly different direction to succeed. Although “Our Love” is entertaining, gents like Sean Kingston and Iyaz have already snatched the island guy gone mainstream image. We need him to be an exception to that.
Woooo yea it looks as though artists Sketch, Chase and K. Rock are feeling summer as they bring a gift for your subwoofer in the form of “On Deck”. As well as rapping on the track, Sketch is the producer.
This song is tight, real bouncy and you can just vibe out to this. This deserves to be on every Bahamian radio staion because when we get in the car and jet on the highway we want to hear this comin through the radio waves. “Imma Be, Imma Be” jammin this all day.

On this Valentine’s Day we have new music from Bahamian artists Novel and Sketch. The song, simply titled “Promise.”
We may not flood this site with every single Bahamian artist and song that is released but we ARE watching closely and our nation is producing some promising talent. To us, the talent is very prominent and alive. The next ingredient is the right business move or venture to kick start the international career of one of ‘em. “Promise” displays the potential…

It’s September, which means it’s back to school time for a lot of people and this month’s Stylezine Magazine focuses on that. This months big feature, “The Heart-Throbs”, showcases three of The Bahamas’ hottest young male acts. Singers Sammi Starr, Sketch and CJ Priest take on the roles of preppy school boys sporting navy blue blazers, white shirts, khaki pants and red ties…
Also, the three came together for an exclusive song for the magazine entitled “Pick Me” which we just happened to hear on 94.9FM. This song is HOT as lava and SMOOTH as silk. The song is about the three guys calling into the radio to vie for a chance to win a date with a girl named “Shanté”. Our Bahamian artists are really stepping their games up. Now the next step is for the percentage of them who rely on the trends, to step outside of the box and create a sound of their own. Check out the Stylezine Magazine webste HERE and retrieve the free download of the song below.
