Robyn, is Swedish Pop perfection and Rye Rye is a Baltimore House Princess. The two of them combined is one combustion of GREAT. That is just what happened with the latest from Rye Rye, lifted from forthcoming album, Go! Pop! Bang! Robyn’s 2005 single, “Be Mine” is sampled for the the album’s second single, “Never Will Be Mine.”
Eargasm, a new favorite, this song is chilled. The midtempo and melody are niiice. We only have nice things to say about this song but we’re just doubtful that this album of Rye Rye’s will never be released. After all, it was supposed to be out from 2009.
Robyn was on the Ellen show today where she performed the first single from her Body Talk era, “Dancing OnMy Own.”
It’s nice, that about a year has passed and she stills gives this song a televised performance. Hopefully, “Dancing On My Own” will still be for Robyn what “Paper Planes” was for M.I.A.
Below are some music videos that premiered within the past two days.
Nicki Minaj premiered her lengthy new Chris Robinson-directed music video for “Moment 4 Life.” Both the video and song feature Drake, who plays Minaj’s love interest. The video follows a Cinderella plot with one of Nicki Minaj’s alter-ego’s, Martha aka Roman’s mother, making her debut visual appearance.
You would think that it would be another four to five years to hear new music from Robyn since she released the Body Talk serious throughout 2010. Well you will be wrong because according to new reports, the Swedish-delight will start to record the follow-up in January of 2011:
“It’s the end of the Body Talk album, but it’s nice to start working on something new… Releasing albums in this way allows me to go back into the studio more often, and keep writing between records, which I haven’t been able to do before. And, hopefully, that way I can keep releasing shorter albums, but more regularly.” [SOURCE]
New music can be expected as early as June 2011. Hopefully Robyn has something going with this shorter but more regularly idea of releasing albums.
Like with parts 1 & 2, the 3rd and final installment of Robyn’s Body Talk leaked well of its release. Part 3 will contain 10 songs from parts 1 & 2 and 5 brand new songs along with the Diplo remix of “Dancehall Queen.”
Now that all 3 parts have surfaced, we can say that Robyn has delivered some of the best music of 2010. Pop perfection is what she has delivered. Her vocals are beautiful, the production is ecstasy and her personality just floods through the speakers. Robyn also collaborates with Max Martin again on “Time Machine” which is magic. “Stars 4-ever” is a shining moment on the release; the song just puts in you a state of euphoria… Just take a moment to listen to the greatness Robyn has produced. Shouts to Ali’s Blog. Oh Body Talk 3 will be in sotres on November 22 in the US and the 29th in the UK.
Over the past few days that we were missing a handful of videos premiered from some of today’s hottest artists.
First up is the Diane Martel-directed “Right Thru Me” lifted from Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday. In the video, Minaj tones things down a great deal and is expressing her emotions to her lover, played by model Will Monfret.
Next up is Nelly’s video for the Marc Klasfeld-directed “Move That Body” featuring Akon and T-Pain. The single is lifted from 5.0. The video revolves around some urban underground setting with some sexy chicks battling it out.
The gorgeous Alesha Dixon’s new single, “Radio,” is here in full. The single is the second to be lifted from her forthcoming studio album, The Entertainer, out this November.
Well damn, as soon as we pressed play we thought we were listening to Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”; the synths are almost identical. Besides that the single progresses into a loud and defined chorus that fits anthem proportions. It’s a neat little Pop tune that hopefully starts the fire underneath this new project of hers.
The final part of the Robyn’s Body Talk series is right around the corner and today Robyn unveils the official album art and tracklist for the project. The album will contain 5 songs from Pt. 1, 5 songs from Pt. 2 and 5 brand new songs. Robyn stated that the idea of releasing music throughout the year was organic and not conceptual. She was tired of doing things the traditional way. Body Talk Pt. 3 will be released in the US and Scandinavia on Nov. 22, Australia on Nov. 26, UK on Nov. 29 and Germany on Dec. 3. View the tracklist after…
Just like with the last two installments of Robyn’s Body Talk series, the first single premieres way ahead of its official release date. “Indestructible” which appeared in acoustic form in Pt. 2 gets the electro overhaul for Pt. 3.
Fast paced, bass thumping, synth-drenched is what “Indestructible” is all about. The song is Robyn’s usual uptempo delight but in this case, the third time is not the charm. This is not to say the song is anything near bad but it just isn’t as great as “Dancing On My Own” and “Hang With Me.” “Indestructible” will be made available for purchase on November 22, shortly followed by the album on November 29.
