• Brand New & Unmixed: Robin Thicke “Shakin’ It For Daddy” feat. Nicki Minaj

  Robin Thicke is doing some steady promo in preparation for his upcoming Sex Therapy album. Today he stopped by Hot 107.9 to give an exclusive song. The song is entitled “Shakin’ It For Daddy” featuring Nicki Minaj and is so exclusive that the song was just recorded two days ago and has not even been mixed yet.

  WHAT IN THE… Robin, what’s goin’ on man?! Thicke has gone from making deep and soulful music to selling out changing to his music to something of a more sleazy and urban radio nature. The song is not horrible mind you, it’s just Thicke was one of the few classy artists left and now he’s no better than making a video full of video models chicks, poppin’ bottles of liquor and being so cliché. S.O.D.H. (Shake Our Damn Heads), Robin Thicke has left the building.

• Meiplé The Outcome of Robin Thicke & Jay-Z In the Studio

  Robin Thicke is currently finishing up his forthcoming album, Sex Therapy, and just last Friday he tweeted about a Jay-Z collaboration for the album:

  “In the studio today with Jay Z… His Hovieness!! So excited!! He’s jumping on one of my records for my Sex Therapy album. Wish me luck!!”

  Already, a snippet of their collaboration has hit the net. The song is not of the caliber we thought  it could be but after listening to the snippet a dozen times we’re attached to this song; a catchy tune. The song has a quirky and bouncy beat with drums n all. From the snippet Jay seems to lay down a few one liners as Thicke sings in his softest voice. Then there’s the tongue-in-cheek French girl, what a hilarious bit that is. Is she saying what we think she is? It’s a light-hearted fun song that will make a great album cut but no single contender.

• First Single: Leighton Meester “Somebody to Love” feat. Robin Thicke

  This morning on z100, Leighton Meester called into the Ryan Seacrest show to premiere her first single, “Somebody to Love”, featuring Robin Thicke and produced by Mike Caren. She seemed really excited to finally to let the listeners hear it. The single is from her yet-to-be titled album in which she hopes to be released by this year’s end.

  Before we get into this, Leighton Meester is similar to Cassie when it comes to vocals; sensual talking who can hit a few notes. The difference between Meester and Cassie is that there’s a charm and certain sparkle that comes through when a Meester song plays. With that being said this song has a catchy hook and we can see this receiving fair play on the radio even if it’s due to Meester’s prevalent popularity from Gossip Girl. Robin Thicke is not giving his all on this song instead he he’s fully aware of the nature of the song and delivers some complementary vocals.

• Sex Therapy With Robin Thicke

  Six years after the debut of his first album, Robin Thicke is readying the release of his fourth studio album which is still to be titled. The first single from that project, “Sex Therapy”, leaked earlier today and is produced by Polow Da Don plus it samples the melody of, “It’s My Party and I’ll Cry If I Want To” from the song that was so popular in the 1960′s.

  When it comes to singing about making love there are only two guys that do it with sheer class and they are Maxwell and Robin Thicke. I think it’s safe to say that what Polow did for Ciara with “Promise” he’s doing the same for “Sex Therapy” with Thicke. The song fits our formula of a near perfect R&B mid-tempo which is a smooth bass driven instrumental with a lethal injection of falsettos. We are really liking this track and hope this does something somewhere on the charts for Thicke.
