Despite this already being classified as old news we still could not go without posting this. Last night, Alicia Keys’ Freedom tour stopped in New York City at Madison Square Garden. If you were dying to see this concert then you may have missed the best show out of all the concert dates as Keys had a few special guests to help the show along. Mr. and Mrs. Carter a.k.a. Jay-Z and Beyoncé along with Swizz Beatz were all there.

Goodness gracious mayne! Just when we thought we would be blasted with lots of color and culture with Alicia Keys’ “Put It In a Love Song” video today, it suffers the dreaded pushback. BUT get this, it’s not like GaGa’s “Telephone”  video which kept receiving multiple short day delays, this video is being pushed back a whole month to mid-April. What kinda…

To be honest, this is probably some managerial decision to not flood the media all at once with Beyoncé but to rather spread her out over the next few months. Fans will probably watch the hell out of “Telephone” by mid-April and will  then have a refreshing view of the bouncin’ hip gal.

For the past few weeks people have been on edge awaiting Lady GaGa’s “epic” “Telephone” video featuring Beyoncé. The last release date to be mentioned was March 8 but then the dreaded push back came along. But all is well as the official release date has been announced:

Another video with just a little less momentum riding behind is the premiere of Alicia Keys’ “Put It In a Love Song” which also features Beyoncé:

Alicia Keys and Beyoncé were causing a little frenzy earlier today in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as the pair filmed the video for “Put It In a Love Song.” Color, culture and more color: that’s what this video is going to ooze. In the video above, we can see Bey swaying her body with force whilst Alicia Keys… we still love you beautiful. The song has grown on us much more over the last few months. Within the past few days, news sources have revealed the next footsteps, or single releases, for some of the top females in the game; Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Rihanna and Lady GaGa.

Alicia Keys has yet to reach the single chart success of As I Am with The Element of Freedom. That may change soon enough, just maybe. Keys spoke exclusively to BET.com where she didn’t confirm but definitely teased readers that the next single and video from her will be “Put It In a Love Song” featuring Beyoncé:

“Are you gonna get your wish to see the video for “Put it in a Love Song” with Beyonce, I have to say it’s looking really likely, ‘cause we have to do that,’” Keys revealed. “And we’ve already talked about where we want it to be. We’ve been toying with some ill locations. She’s an incredible lady and I absolutely consider her a friend. And we are going to totally, entirely blow your whole head backwards when we do that video” [SOURCE 1] [SOURCE 2]

Hopefully this is not a “Video Phone” part 2. It would be something to see Alicia Keys do some choreography, or not.

Beyoncé is joining her soon-to-be overexposed equal, Lady GaGa, on the set for GaGa’s latest single, “Telephone,” from The Fame Monster. The video will be shot in Los Angeles on the 28th of this month. Let’s hope Knowles-Carter takes a backseat and lets GaGa pilot this plane. [SOURCE]

Lastly, and somewhat least in talent, it has been confirmed that yet another quick release single from Rihanna’s Rated R will make it to US radio on February 9. “Rude Boy,” one of the highlights in the dark album should do well with listeners. It’s so odd though, you mean to tell us that drowning the public into Rihanna’s existence didn’t even give her a single to last for at least a month near the top, well we’ll be damned. [SOURCE]

The song we’ve all been waiting for is here; the collaboration between Alicia Keys and Beyoncé, “Put It In a Love Song.” Keys spoke to BET’s Sharon Carpenter the other day and had this to say about working with Bey:

“Someone’s in London, someone’s in NYC and you send it via internet and they send it back,” Keys told Carpenter. ”You’re feeling it, you talk on the phone, but the real way is to really be in the studio together, which we were.”

“We just had a party in the studio,” she continued. ”It was such a genuine energy, we clicked, we connected. We’ve known each other for a lot of years and obviously this is the first time that we’ve been able to collaborate, so it was unforgettable. Can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Hmm, you know we’re going to be very hard on this one just because of the anticipation  of this song and talent of these two? The Swizz Beatz produced jam is an uptempo bouncy banger and brings about nostalgia with Beyoncé shouting “Work It Out.” The Song does not have an instant appeal; it takes at least three listens to fully enjoy. The highlight of this song is definitely from 2:10 to 2:35.

Overall, it is a very nice song but it isn’t the best they could have come up with… and that’s our five cents.

We deserved to be whipped, forgetting to post Alicia Keys’ video for “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” when it premiered. Keys takes on the role of a superhuman who has the ability to heal and harm in the video.

What can we say, this is Alicia being Alicia. She rides around the city healing animals but when it comes to her love she steals life away from him. The whole concept is a bit far-fetched and the execution wasn’t the smoothest but this song is timeless and doesn’t need a video to help it’s appeal increase. A b-side also leaked from Alicia. “Dreaming,” is a soulful slow jam that has a very mature vibe. Her vocals are beautiful and if this is a taste of what will be on the album, we’re not complaining at all. View the official track list after…
