
In anticipation of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, Mariah Carey signed a deal to perform at The Palms Resort in Las Vegas for four nights which began on the night of the 11th. The gig saw Carey showcasing songs from her past and present.
Before we get into it, above you cane see two very similar images. The one on the right is of Carey’s Butterfly days and the one of the left looks almost identical but where was it 10 or more years ago? Well it would seems that Carey felt she really lost touch with E=MC² which is why she did a new promo shoot and brought back the brunette curls to show that the old Mariah has returned.
… Luckily for us who are not able to attend, some advantageous audience member recorded two unheard of songs from MoaIA that she performed.
“Angels Cry”, co-written by Carey and Crystal Johnson and produced by Tricky Stewart and James ‘Big Jim’ Wright, is one of those beautiful ballads that is signature of the songstress. Extremely emotional and backed by some exquisite piano melody, Mariah is definitely feeding the nostalgia.

“Up Out My Face”, produced by Tricky and The-Dream… WAIT A MINUTE! Well say it isn’t so, Mariah did not leave the Eminem situation with “Obsessed”, the infatile dispute seemed to boil over into this song. “No you aint getting it, no you aint hitting it, no you aint a rapper so you need to stop spittin it!”. Great song nonetheless but this isn’t smart… well we dislike unnecessary drama.

This new album of Carey’s is levels above its predecessor; it’s really decent from what we’ve heard. Remember to go out and pick it up when it hits stores and online retailers September 29.
