Last month at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), Diplo played a new track from Major Lazer for the “first time ever.”
No word yet on what project it’s from nor when it will be released or even what the title of the track is. All we know is when that “bammin’” bass hit the speakers we lost it, like the people in the audience. Get loose below. Thanks to zookrewLA for capturing the footage.
Back in the earlier part of February the rough cut of “Sound of Siren” featuring M.I.A. and Busy Signal hit the net. The minute that gulping bassline kicked in we were sold. We knew it was to be on an upcoming Major Lazer EP and this past week Lazers Never Die was released.
Lazers Never Die features one new song, “Sound of Siren,” and the remaining four tracks are new mixes of previous songs. The EP makes for a good listen, a crazy good listen, but back to “Sound Of Siren.” If only Dancehall would take a step back in this direction then you’d see more of it on this site. This new era of “Jamaican” music is just foolishness, with a few exceptions.
Oh, we were jumping through different sites and came upon this “Daggering” video in Jamaica. “Daggering” is a slang Jamaican term for very ROUGH sex so the dance involves partners looking like savage animals having sex. Oh as you will see in the video, after the jump, it is also quite the dangerous dance. It’s all fun and good entertainment and even makes for great jokes but in all serious behavior, it is just a DAMN mess. Watch the video after…

Great news, we have new music from Major Lazer and M.I.A. Major Lazer has a new E.P. dropping in April and “Sound of Siren” will appear on it. The song also features Busy Signal. Look out for Collie Budz, Buraka Som Sistema, Lindi Ortega, and Thom Yorke to appear on the E.P.
This song is definitely “military-meets-dancehall.” When that gulping dancehall bass hits it’s a party in the place. We went hard for Major Lazer’s album so an E.P. is very much appreciated.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, TV shows and fashion shows can have the best music depending on the show or designer. Point in case, at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2010 show Marc Jacobs sent a slew of afro rockin’ females down to the runway to a sparkly electro version of Major Lazer‘s “Keep It Goin’ Louder”. This version of the song was obviously different than the album’s but we wondered who it was on remix duty. Turns out half of Major Lazer, producer Diplo, came back to remix his own song. The outcome is a blood body movin’ uptempo song suitable for the runway to dancefloor.
Below you can listen to original Diplo remix or the extended edit for the Louis Vuitton show. Both are must haves! Also you can view the LV show HERE and HERE.

Here is the video premiere for the Major Lazer (Diplo & Switch) “Pon De Floor”.
SAY WHAT! Man look hya, these Jamaicans are too wild n OFF the wall. I mean this comes as no shock to us because we’ve seen loads of videos of how they carry on in the clubs down there and even here in this country. LOL but wow for those who are not familiar will think this is some sort of censored pornography. Just wow.
But as for the video there is no real concept except for the X-RATED dancing. You all have a ball watching it again.
It’s been four years since Back II Da Basics was released. Now, Ginuwine is back with his sixth LP, A Man’s Thoughts. Everyone who knows anything about R&B knows Ginuwine is a veteran to the genre and it shines through with his latest effort. The album leaked this morning and we were able to give it a full listen. The vibe of the album is classic R&B. So for those of you feeling nostalgic then this is the album for you. Some may call it safe but it’s refreshing as so much R&B music today is mixed with other genres so being safe is a little fresh. A Man’s Thoughts hits stores next week on the 23rd.

Seems as though The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) means the beginning for the Black Eyed Peas as far as being #1 is concerned. “Boom Boom Pow” earned the Peas their first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Now, The E.N.D., according to weekly reports, shot to the top of the Billboard 200 to make it the Peas first #1 debut for an album. The album moved 304,000 units which is good. I mean let’s face it, the days of artists causing fans to line up outside record stores to first week sales of over a million is OVER. Lil Wayne is the only exception. This is also surprising because I was greatly under the impression that the Peas were #1 before. But of course, congratulations to them; a respectable foursome.
DJ’s Diplo and Switch teamed up to create Major Lazer, a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in a secret zombie war in 1984. The resulting project from Major Lazer entitled Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do is jammed packed with well produced electro/DANCEHALL songs from beginning to end. iTunes is being nice and giving a free track away. If you have an account with them you can down load the track HERE. Also be sure to pick up the album in sotres now.
The video for Major Lazer’s “Hold the Line” recently premiered. The Diplo & Switch collaboration is going to be one HUGE Dancehall piece which centers around the cartoon character Major Lazer, a Jamaican commando who lost his arm in the secret Zombie War of 1984. Check the video out below.
We also have another track from the upcoming album, Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do, entitled “Lazer Boom 1″. DAMN this is our type of thing, full of energy and those drums at 1:21 are the business. Time to DANCE! Below, there is also a hot remix of “Hold the Line”.

Another track has leaked from the Diplo & Switch (Major Lazer) collaboration. This one is entitled “Keep It Going Louder” and it features Nina Sky and Ricky Blaze. This one takes a different direction than the dancehall driven “Hold the Line“ and “Zumbi“. This song is much more newschool R&B with the Dance influence throughout. The track is a hot one no matter which way you look at it plus it’s good to hear Nina Sky on a current track. Are you as excited as we are for this release, the Major Lazer album drops June 16.

Very early this mornin’ we posted the first track of Major Lazer’s upcoming project Guns Don’t Kill People…Lazers Do and now we have another track featuring Andy Milonakis. You all remember Andy and his ridiculous show which use to air on MTV? Anyways, for those who love them some dancehall music this is perfect. We were laughin our heads off because we couldn’t believe Andy tryin to be badman Jamaican. This album is shaping up to be nothing but pure fiya. DEFINITELY DOWNLOAD THIS ONE.
