Just this past March The-Dream released his sophomore album Love vs. Money. There was a solid line drawn down the middle with half of his following claiming it surpassed his debut and the other half claiming it didn’t. Well for those who were not satisfied fear not because The-Dream is already hard at work on his third studio album entitled Love King. His plans are to release this album at this year’s end sometime in December. Here is what he had to say about the album thus far.
“I have to pace myself ’cause there’s so much time between here and then,” The Dream says, “but the seven records I do have are timeless records. Whether they come out now or later it’s not really going to matter what kind of records they are.”
WOW, really? A third album with the noun love in its title. To the average mind reading this it is completely unoriginal and displays a lack of creativity but The-Dream is a highly capable musician and is somewhat of a genius in his execution of the R&B music genre. He is obviously doing something right if artists can’t keep their hands off his talent. As far as the direction is concerned, there is none at this moment because The-Dream claims that’s the last part of the equation. Despite that it was speculated that The-Dream will cover Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana”. We can totally see him pulling it off.
Also, in addition to that news he will be busy in the upcoming months working on upcoming studio albums for Diddy (Last Train to Paris), Brandy and Mariah Carey. He recently finished production on Christina Milian’s Elope.
As a bonus I personally want to throw in the album version of “Right Side of My Brain”. This song was posted on the old blog twice but was taken down by Blogger each time. I’m still listening to this song every other day, it’s just that good to me. I don’t know how it would fair as a single but it is probably my top pick from Love vs. Money.
