• G.O.O.D. Friday Saturday: Kanye West On That “Christian Dior Denim Flow”

  Literally speaking, Kanye West went through with putting a halt on G.O.O.D. Friday. However, he still did deliver new music this morning, so I guess you can call today G.O.O.D. Saturday. The latest to be released is “Christian Dior Denim Flow.” As usual the song is another dynamic one from West with beat switch ups and a handful of features including KiD CuDi, Pusha T, John Legend, Ryan Leslie and Lloyd Banks.

• KiD CuDi Gives Most Truthful and Dark Interview In Complex

  In the latest issue of Complex magazine, KiD CuDi is letting nothing but his opinion flow with his feelings towards being dropped from Lady GaGa’s tour, fighting the mainstream, going against a Wale statement, his drug usage, amongst many other things.

  On being incomparable to his contemporaries:

  Did you see that Wale interview that he just did, comparing us to sports? Let me clear this up: I’m incomparable to anybody. I don’t care how people take that. No one can compete with me. I’m unfuckwittable; no one can knock me off my shit. I’m an unstoppable force, I’m a bullet. My trajectory is to the sky. Niggas got to do something really spectacular to fuck with me and my realm, and niggas be so bitter that you hear it in their voice.

  The sound of his next album:

  It’s explicit, but smart explicit. I’m not holding back. I have no regard for what people consider right or wrong. Some things I follow—like the law, from here on out. But other than that, I’m doing whatever the fuck I want to do. I’m not holding back. That’s why I’ve been so excited about this move to L.A., because I just want to keep growing creatively, all over, as a human being.

  His heavy drug use:

  I started doing cocaine to get through interviews, ’cause people wanted to know a lot about my personal life and I wasn’t prepared for a 60 Minutes interview every time. Doing bumps I was able to get through the day, but then I would smoke weed to calm me down—it was the only way I could get through the day without people noticing I was doing it. (more…)

• Inspiration: Ratatat’s Guitar Solo In KiD CuDi’s “Pursuit Of Happiness”

  As we wait for CuDi’s Man On the Moon sequel we find our self consistently playing his debut. There is a part in one of the songs, that from the very first time we heard it we became religiously addicted. Yes, that part would be the portion in “Pursuit of Happiness” when the electric guitar explodes into that ravishing riff performed by Ratatat. Turn up the volume and take a listen for yourself.

  We’ve been throwing this word around a lot lately but damn, that is EPIC. Words almost can’t describe the trance it puts us in. The riff is very reminiscent of what Prince what have played to hypnotize his audience. It is 33 seconds of rockstar heaven.

  You know how it is, when KiD CuDi and Kanye West get together for a music collaboration we freakin’ rejoice. To soften the pain of waiting for CuDi’s Man On the Moon sequel and Kanye’s fifth studio album we have another joint tune from the more alternative rappers.

  “Wylin’ ‘Cause I’m Young” is set to appear on Perajok & Kanye West Presents: G.O.O.D. Ass Mixtape which is set to drop on this upcoming Monday, the 16th. The eerie and hypnotizing production is the perfect backing to both CuDi’s and West’s on-point lyrics. The song is pretty opposite to their recent release, “Erase Me.” Where “Erase Me” was fun and light, “Wylin’…” is a straight-faced, no-playin’-games type of jam.

  It’s just a little under two months before we have KiD CuDi’s sophomore LP, Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, in our hands. The closer it gets to release time, the more we hear from the project. Two snippets from the album, “Mojo” and “Mr. Rager,” have made their way online.

  “Mojo”, continues CuDi’s sound of melancholy with a subtle but pronounced bassline. The song is very mellow with some profanity to keep the listener a little hype. It’s a definite thumbs up.

  We waited for weeks for this… Since “Erase Me” leaked, we prowled the ‘net for this song endlessly but now, it is HERE.

  “Erase Me” which is more radio-friendly than “REVOFEV” is overall more of a rock song with a Hip-Hop verse, supplied by Mr. West. As you can tell in the last month or so, we’re not die hard Hip-Hop but we sill do enjoy the genre, greatly. CuDi looks to be serving the public with another solid effort that will be on play for months.

• CuDi, Cosentino & Batmanglij Team Up For “All Summer” Converse Jingle

  KiD CuDi, Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend are the voices and images behind a new promo single entitled “All Summer” for veteran sneaker brand Converse. The song came to life because of the Three Artists, One Song challenge and it was a challenge all three met.

  Despite all three artists coming from a more indie than mainstream background they are all very different. In this situation their differences work in their favor as this song just comes together perfectly. We’re thinking the hipsters will love this and may be on many of their iPods this summer. Here’s what CuDi had to say:

  “When you throw three creative people together it can be tough and nerve-racking to get the artistic gears going,” said Kid Cudi. “But we ended up vibing really well and I was totally pleased with the end result.” [SOURCE]

• SINGLE PREMIERE: KiD CuDi “REVOFEV”

  We’ve known for awhile now that KiD CuDi would not be waiting a full year before new music from his sophomore LP, Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager, would grace our ears. This morning, the first single from the album which was performed at a NYC Bape store the other day and previously titled “Revolution” has entered the internet realm.

  Under the new title of “REVOFEV”, short for Revolution of Evolution, CuDi’s new single sees a return from producer Plain Pat the help capture and continue the sound from the first song along with Larry Gold responsible for the strings.. The song is very much the hipster/non-mainstream approach CuDi is known for; we only see true CuDi and progressive Hip-Hop fans enjoying this one. The song’s left field progression reaches a climax towards the end when drums take over the simple beat and leaves the listener with anticipation for this new album.

  At this point CuDi has us tucked away in his corner so most things he puts out we like or find a way to like it. Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager will hit music outlets later this year, September 14.
