The Americans redid “We Are the World” for Haiti and the British covered R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” so now the Canadians are making their own musical contribution to Haiti. Somali musician K’Naan has made quite an impact with his uplifting song “Wavin’ Flag” as it is the this 2010 theme song for the Fifa World Cup and now Canada’s choice for a song for Haiti.
Nelly Furtado, Drake, Kardinal Offishall, Justin Bieber, Avril Lavigne, Fefe Dobson amongst many other Canadian artists sing and rap their hearts out for this international tune. From Drake’s solo rap verse and on, this song just gets to us.
