This year’s Grammy Awards were not as memorable as we thought it would had have been but nonetheless there were some performances to be remembered. The list goes a little something like this:
Aretha Franklin tribute performed by Martina McBride, Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch and Jennifer Hudson
Lady Antebellum Medley
Cee-Lo & Gwyneth Paltrow “Song otherwise known as ‘Forget You’”
Mumford & Sons “The Cave”
Arcade Fire “Month of May”
Mick Jagger & Raphael Saadiq “Everybody Needs Somebody To Love”
This time of year is the best for partying and celebrating but as far as blogging, not so much. However, there is one thing to look forward to during this time. This would be the incredible United State of Pop mash-up by DJ Earworm, this year entitled as “Don’t Stop the Pop.” The mash-up blends the top 25 hits of the Billboard Hot 100.
This year’s mash-up includes Ke$ha‘s “Tik Tok,” Bruno Mars‘ “Just the Way You Are,” Travie McCoy‘s “Billionaire” featuring Bruno Mars, B.o.B‘s “Nothin’ On You” featuring Bruno Mars and “Airplanes” featuring Hayley Williams, Lady GaGa‘s “Bad Romance” and Telephone featuring Beyoncé, Rihanna‘s “Rude Boy,” Eminem‘s “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie” featuring “Rihanna,” Taio Cruz‘s “Break Your Heart” featuring Ludacris and “Dynamite,” Enrique Iglesias‘ “I Like It” featuring Pitbull, Katy Perry‘s “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg and “Teenage Dream,” Mike Posner‘s “Cooler Than Me,” Black Eyed Peas‘ “Rock That Body” and “Imma Be,” Young Money‘s “Bedrock,” Iyaz‘s “Replay,” Lady Antebellum‘s “Need You Now,” Usher “OMG” featuring Will.i.am and “DJ Got Us Falling In Love” featuring Pitbull, Train “Hey, Soul Sister” and Jay-Z “Empire State of Mind” featuring Alicia Keys.
After two listens it’s obvious that the made-for-radio hits of 2010 focused on melodies. This isn’t Earworm’s best to date; the songs of 2010 allowed for pretty beats but they all don’t perfectly blend together. Despite that, Earworm’s 2010 effort has us reliving all the fun energy of 2010 in a little over 5 minutes.
In other news, those of you who are aged 13-17 and will be spending you New Year’s here, in The Bahamas, can check out DJ Earworm at Club Rush, at the Atlantis Resort, listen below.
Earlier, video footage leaked of Kanye West and Charlie Wilson in the studio recording “Flashing Lights 2.” The song is will either show up on Charlie Wilson’s forthcoming album or the Watch the Throne LP. Rumor has it that Jay-Z and Eminem might both lay verses down for the song. Shout out to Kuci06 who took the time to perfect the beat and layer the vocals from the video clip to give a preview of what the final piece of music will sound like.
No words as of now ’cause this just sounds too good.
As mentioned in the Christina post yesterday, T.I.’s No Mercy (formerly titled King Uncaged) will make its way to music outlets on December 7. Along with a Christina Aguilera guest appearance, will be Eminem, Kanye West, Chris Brown and The-Dream. Production will come from popular producers such as Danja, Dr. Luke, Jim Jonsin plus more.
What happened to the Lady GaGa collaboration? Oh that’s right, they probably realized that it was pure foolishness only done for popularity. We’ll save our full opinion for when we listen to the album but Dr. Luke and T.I.? Who would have thought…
Be sure to check out the video for the Chris Brown collaboration, “Got Back Up,” after the jump. It’s another simple affair from the southern rapper.

It all just started as news but now we can actually listen to the sequel to one of this year’s biggest radio hits, “Love the Way You Lie.” The song was such a huge success that Rihanna’s team just couldn’t help but put their hands in to make Part II, set to appear on LOUD.
Part II is more of a new mix than a complete new song. Added, is an extended piano intro with Rihanna singing a new verse before the well-recognized hook kicks in with added drums. The focus is on Rihanna this time with Eminem being the feature delivering aggression like only he knows how to.
Like with Alicia Key’s “Empire State of Mind (Part II),” “L.T.W.Y.L. (Part II)” is a nice complement song to the original but probably won’t do much to further the success of what’s already been done. Take a listen below.

Nicki Minaj aka Roman Zolanski is putting them soft Pop tunes on hold as she brings out her aggression on the Eminem-assisted “Roman’s Revenge.” The Swizz Beatz-produced song is already a standout cut from Minaj’s debut album, Pink Friday.
Eminem slaughters with his verse but what else is new. The pair have both fists up throwing blows, just venting their issues in music form. Lots of profanity and vulgar language swims through this song… It’s actually nice to hear this side from Minaj because you almost forget she’s a rapping beast with all the made-for-radio beats and lyrics. Ol’ Minaj gone rough on this one.

Also, Pink Friday’s tracklist surfaced along with this newest leak. Favors are returned to Minaj with features from Kanye West, Rihanna and Drake. A surprise feature on the album is Natasha Bedigfield, huh? We need to hear this. Read the track list after…
Firstly, we would like to apologize for posting that fake tracklist the other week which had us under the impression that there would be a Lady GaGa x Rihanna collaboration. Well DefPenRadio is just about as official as it comes, pertaining to Rihanna. The trustworthy site released the official tracklist just a few short moments ago. The album will contain three features: Drake, Nicki Minaj and Eminem. It also turns out that the reports are true; “Love the Way you lie (Part II)” will be apart of the album. The David Guetta-produced “Who’s That Chick” will appear as a bonus track. View the tracklist after…
When something is a success, the thing to do is to milk it for everything it’s worth. Well Rihanna is pulling an Alicia Keys by recording a sequel to “Love the Way You Lie” as Keys did for “Empire State of Mind.” It made sense as “Love the Way You Lie” turned out to be a huge chart success by remaining #1 for a handful of weeks. There is no official word on whether or not Eminem will join the sequel but Part 2 is to be from a female’s point of view. Below are a few lyrics from the new song:
“Even angels have their wing cut schemes, and you take that to new extremes, but you will always be my hero, even though you lost your mind.” [SOURCE]
Well, we can wait patiently ’cause “What’s Your Name” featuring Drake is taking up all of our time. The “Rah-pah-pum-pum” flow of that song is beyond addictive. View Rihanna’s Kodak commercial after…
“Love the Way You lie” is one of the exceptions where an album could be closed on a GREAT note, even only being single #2 but Emienm is moving on with the release of the third single off the album. Single #3 which samples the 90′s Haddaway classic, “What Is Love,” still features clips of Lil Wayne despite him being “away.”
The plot follows a young male who is bullied in the high school scene but later gathers his courage and fights back in the end. Some may complain Eminem is becoming less hard but it’s more of him speaking up with optimism instead of releasing pessimism, all the time, great video and song.
