  A new bonus track has leaked from Leona Lewis’ Echo. The song is entitled “Fly Here Now” and is produced by The Y’s.

  Nice, whilst it’s obvious this could only be a bonus track it is still a very decent song. The song starts with a keyboard riff then shifts into some 90′s synths that sound like something from a classic Madonna song. Lewis’ vocals are manufactured perfect as usual and her pitch and tone in the chorus is beautiful. Overall, another friendly song from the beautiful Lewis.

  Also, you can downlaod another bonus track entitled “You Don’t Care” produced by Ryan tedder. It’s the usual of the run-of-the-,ill material from him and LeLe.

• Leona Lewis Lets It Rain

  The album leaked and now the extras follow. “Let It Rain,” the B-side to “Happy,” has finally made it’s way onto the net in full CDQ.

  HMMM, why didn’t this make the album? We like this a lot, much better than “Happy” and more befitting of an epic tune. The song is a ballad; lots of drums, a piano melody and a beautiful/appealing chorus. Fans will definitely like this song.

  The reaction to Echo seems to be 50/50; it is either loved or loathed. Like we mentioned earlier, the album is not bad at all it just is not as good as Spirit; in our opinion.

• LEAKAGE: Leona Lewis ‘Echo’

  It’s been about 2 years since Leona Lewis debuted with the Platinumx6 selling Spirit. That along with her worldwide smash single, “Bleeding Love,” boosted her to achieve accolades that a UK solo artist had failed to do within the last 10 years or so. Now she is readying the release of her sophomore effort, Echo, which suffered the good ol’ leak treatment as all albums do nowadays. So how does the album fare?

  In a nutshell, Echo was made with one thing in mind and that is to guarantee some safe radio-friendly music for the listener. After listening to the album twice, straight through, it becomes a bit boring. In other words, this is definitely an album where the listener will only be quick to play the few songs that stick out to them. This time around Lewis experiments with some uptempo tunes. The most notable of the uptempo bunch, the Max Martin/Shellback produced “Outta My Head,” is a direct step into the pop/dance arena. At first, the song did not stick but once you get used to Lewis singing such a song it becomes pretty addictive.

  Then of course there are the ballads. Her ballads are nowhere as strong as they were on Spirit nor are they as memorable. After the success of her cover of Snow Patrol‘s “Run” she takes another turn at covering a hit song. This time she and a Gospel choir take on Oasis‘ “Stop Crying Your Heart Out.” The song is no “Run” but it still rings sounds of beauty through out.

  So after the two listens we gave Echo we’re left feeling unsatisfied. There are songs on the album that will suffice but nothing too special. Let’s just say that if this was her debut album she would not be the worldwide success she is now. It would not be completely ethical to consider this a sophomore slump but at the same time people will not be so quick to say that she is the next Mariah Carey and for GOOD reason.

• Album Previews: Ryan Leslie, Amerie, & Leona Lewis

  September to November always seem to be one the better times of the year for album releases. From the hotly anticipated GaGa re-release to the top secret Rated R, album sales will be brought back to life. Below, are not any of the releases mentioned previously but are some previews of some pretty hot ones. You have Ryan Leslie’s Transition, Amerie’s In Love & War, John Mayer Battle Studies and Leona Lewis’ Echo.

  

  Okay, you have Rihanna’s Rated R which is probably the most anticipated album this quarter of the year and then you look at the other end of the spectrum then there’s Leslie’s Transition. It just seems that absolutely no one is interested in this album but that’s to be expected when you’re dealing with a mature and classy guy. Leslie is talented and it shows from the preview clips. The music is signature R. Les; lots of mid-tempos, keyboards and synths. If you haven’t picked up his debut album yet, go out an get Ryan Leslie. PRE-ORDER HERE.

• Video Premiere: Leona Lewis “Happy”

  The video for Leona Lewis’ single, “Happy”, premiered exclusively on the UK network, Box. The single is lifted from Lewis’ sophomore album entitled Echo.

  Whoa! Did the guy who Lewis was falling for turn out to be the one getting married to someone else in the end? Crazy! This video exceeds the single all on its own and because of that it makes the single a lot more likable and less stale. We like how the video is just not a bunch of glamor shots and actually had a real setting and storyline. Everything about the video seemed real and far from the superficial side of entertainment. So what do you have? A video full of gorgeous people, a warm and inviting setting, a storyline and 3 minutes and 59 seconds of natural visuals; looks like a winner to us.

  Photoshopped or not, this girl is gorgeous; those eyes, that golden glow, the blonde in her hair and even the strong bone structure. Also, after looking at these images, one of these would have been more appropriate for the album cover. They capture the supposed organic nature of her music. • Leona Lewis Echoes Inconsistent Vibes

  Above is the official album cover for Leona Lewis’ sophomore album, Echo which is a definite step up from her Spirit album cover. Echo is to feature work from Toby Gad, Matt Hales, Max Martin, Harvey Mason, Jr., Ne-Yo, John Shanks, Ryan Tedder, Justin Timberlake, Xenomania and executive produced by Clive Davis and Simon Cowell.

  When looking at the album cover these words come to mind; sleek, slick, chic, glossy, fashion, aesthetic, etc… we could go on with words that relate to everything that is style over substance. I mean the girl looks stunning similar to a fashion ad ripped right out of a magazine; photoshopped to perfection.

  However Leona Lewis’ music, at least from the leaks, is quite the opposite of everything this album cover stands for. Unless, this is a sign she will be doing more of those god-awful uptempos that she took a hand at on the Spirit re-release.

  Her album cover is definitely what’s “in-fashion.” Then again Leona Lewis was always put forth to be a traditional singer; she will collaborate her amazing voice with amazing songwriters to create SAFE international sounding ballads.

  Oh, but don’t let this little analysis confuse you all. The album cover and most likely every song will be sitting firmly in our iTunes library when it is released.

  Well here we go, in typical internet fashion the BRAND NEW Leona Lewis track entitled “Happy”, produced by Ryan Tedder, has leaked earlier than its radio debut.

  Quite Good! We’re not 100% blown away just yet but after a few more listens we’ll be hooked. It’s definitely has that epic vibe similar to “Bleeding Love”. Also, to compare it to “Bleeding Love”; it doesn’t reach it’s caliber but it is certainly right underneath. Gosh, we’re trying to separate ourselves from the hype and give our take on it as if it’s been out for months. Overall, great choice for a single; beautiful piece of material. With the combination of her image and a triumphant video this shall give Leona another hit.

  Well the anticipation for Leona Lewis’ first single from her upcoming sophomore album Echo is very high and it may just live up to its hype. Before it’s official release Popjustice has given the song a full review to put to rest any worries.

  It’s amazing. Not just ‘Popjustice’ amazing but proper ‘amazing’ amazing.

  Good vocal performance. ‘It’s a yes from us.’

  In short: the Leona Lewis single is above average. A brilliant way to open the second album campaign and a proper world class piece of pop tuneage which doesn’t have quite all the indecipherable mysterious magic of ‘Bleeding Love’ but still boasts more than 97% of other pop tunes.   It’s a little reassuring to hear a well established music journalist give the song raving reviews. That picture alone is beautiful. As so many artists suffer a sophomore slump hopefully this single will be the thing to keeps Lewis riding high. Be sure to check back here when the song premieres.

• Leona’s “Happy” Receives Premiere Date

  The news has been confirmed that Leona Lewis’ first single, “Happy”, from her upcoming sophomore album, Echo, will have a world premiere on UK radio on September 6, 2009. You can read the details below.

  The rumours have been circulating all weekend and now we couldn’t be more pleased, glad or overjoyed to confirm the name of Leona’s new single…in fact we couldn’t be more HAPPY!

  Yes, Happy is indeed the name of the first single to be released from Leona’s sophomore album ‘ECHO’.

  The brand new track will be available to download from 8th November and the CD available on 9th November, a week before album release. However you can hear it much sooner as it gets its worldwide radio premiere exclusively on The Radio 1 Chart Show this Sunday, 6th September! International fans can tune into the show online HERE!   Great, it would be cool if the song holds its own against “Bleeding Love” as a first single. Although today it seems singles and album promotion start so far ahead of the album’s release. By the time the record is ready to hit shelves and digital markets a large percentage of the hype is gone. There just aren’t any surprises these days.
