• Dromomania, The Demo Album

  Dromomania has been an interest of ours for awhile now. The left-field Bahamian duo comprised of Wolf Rizzla & Ciggz give us such a thrill because you just do not hear music like this coming out of our region. Well, after waiting for a bit, Dromomania is one step closer to the release of their debut album with the release of their demo album.

  The album has a 15 song track list: made up of two acts. We listened to the album 3 times, from beginning to end. The album is euphoria; a feeling of traveling through galaxies. We can see hipsters falling in love with Dromomania. There is a signature sound throughout the album that is very much apparent but it never gets tired or sound the same.

  As it is the demo album, the songs are not perfected; vocals have to be rerecorded and guests features have to be put in. Wolf & Ciggz have come quite a ways within the past year. Oh, the entire album was written and produced by Wolf who now feels the album is fifty percent completed. Here’s how he describes the album:

  It’s an experimental Pop album and it’s loosely conceptual – especially in Act II but you will hear that for yourself. It was written mostly in the AM which is why it has a sort of dark-eerie feel to it. It’s also inspired by love, science fiction, the future, Montreal, loss, heartbreak, losing yourself…

  After the finishing touches and other polishing is completed, Dromomania will have a gem of a debut album. Below you can listen to two tracks: “Blunt,” “What I Want” and “The Colony.” View the track list after…

• Reincarnated: Dromomania’s “Radiate”

  We’ll express our happiness tomorrow, but yesterday Dromomania got one step closer to releasing their debut album. The duo gave us a taste of their debut album in demo form. We’ll discuss more in our write up tomorrow but even in demo form, the album is truly great. One song that we heard almost two years ago is here, under the title of “Radiate.”

  Formerly “Florence,” “Radiate” is a gem. Once mastered, this song is going to be a knockout. From the minimal bass-packed production to Wolf Rizzla’s execution of vocals… slick track.

• It Rough: Dromomania “Love High” Demo Feat. Jay Complex Leaks

  There was some intentional leakage yesterday as the demo of Dromomania’s “Love High” featuring Jay Complex popped up on Twitter. The unexpected yet exciting collaboration is just a rough cut but once polished and mastered this will be a WINNER.

  The production is some sorta subtle electronic heat. Dromomania has a lane of music that we absolutely need in our lives. Oh, can we jump on how Complex sounds over a Dromomania beat: RAGIN’. Look, whoever y’all are, give these potential filled artists a BIG BUDGET and let them make sonic magic.

• DJ Ampero + Dromomania Come Together For an Amazing Mash-Up

  Dj Ampero is at it again, this time working his magic on duo Dromomania’s “Theme” and “Day U Die.” Here’s how Ampero describes the track:

  This is the latest and it’s another, featuring local artists, Dromomania to be exact .
  The beat is a mesh of “We Are The People” – Empire of The Sun and “City of Gods” – Pitbull. The vocals are compiled from “Theme from Dromomania” and “Day U Die” by Dromomania and snippets of Diana Ross’ cover of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

  This mash-up i so subtle and smooth with each track complementing each other’s tempo and flow so perfectly.

  Yeap, it’s here, the cover art for Dromomania’s first release. This means that a finished project from the duo is becoming more of a reality. We are genuine fans of the music so we are anticipating this.

• Exclusive: Dromomania Releases Buzz Track

  We introduced the duo known as Dromomania almost a month ago and today they were kind enough to give us the rough cut of “Theme From Dromomania.” As WolfRizzla puts it, the song “showcases more of our Miami bass/melancholy disco hybrid.” You know how we love our bass so this song is kickin’ it with us tonight.

  Like the meaning of their name, Dromomania wanders from everything else being done in this country. Their sound is one huge boiling pot of genres and for a duo who writes and produces their own material, they are doing good. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they will definitely create a following when they are ready to go full throttle with the music.

  Earlier this morning we brought you Bahamian singer Saniyah and now we have another Bahamian act on the rise. The duo go by the name of Dromomania. Though, not as established as other Bahamian artists we’ve showcased, they receive our unlimited respect for their international take on music. In addition to that, everything they’ve let us sample was written and produced by them. Below is a little bio of the duo:

  Cigz and Wolf Rizzla are Dromomania. The group formed in November of 2009 after Wolf had become bored with only working on solo material. Having met Cigz a year earlier and knowing of her raspy, soulful voice, one that could compliment his spunky voice, he asked her to form a duo that would make electro music unlike any other in their native Bahamas. Since then, the pair have been working and writing furiously on demos for an upcoming EP and LP. The 19-year-olds intend on putting out vinyls by late Fall/early Winter followed by an LP entitled Amour Noir. Inspired by Gnarls Barkley, French Techno, Nina Simone, Gorillaz, Italodisco, 60′s girl and boy groups and Daft Punk (just to name a few), one can expect a debut album made with plenty of heart. Dromomania’s hypnotizing, layered, melody-driven songs are aimed to make you dance and cry at the same time!

  Confirmed tracks for Amour Noir include “Alien,” “Last Call,” “Proper,” “Love Injection,” “Mirror Ball,” “The Day You Die,” “Centuries” and the title track “Amour Noir.” Dromomania has a lot to bring to the table, A LOT. It would be a shame if they deter from all that potential. Listen to a demo snippet of their first single, “The Day You Die,” which samples the 90′s hit “Mr. Vain” and some Neptunes’ drums.
