  We waited for weeks for this… Since “Erase Me” leaked, we prowled the ‘net for this song endlessly but now, it is HERE.

  “Erase Me” which is more radio-friendly than “REVOFEV” is overall more of a rock song with a Hip-Hop verse, supplied by Mr. West. As you can tell in the last month or so, we’re not die hard Hip-Hop but we sill do enjoy the genre, greatly. CuDi looks to be serving the public with another solid effort that will be on play for months.

• Usher Files Those “Papers”

  Anticipated much? Today the first single, “Papers”, from Usher’s sixth studio album, Raymond vs. Raymond to be released December 8, premiered today.

  Penned by Sean Garrett and produced by Zaytoven, Usher has returned with a lead single that sticks to his R&B roots. After a very public divorce from his wife, Usher went straight into the studio to work on this album in hopes that this personal struggle will do for this album what a past struggle did for Confessions.

  The song is Usher pouring his heart out to masses stating “I Damn Near Lost My Mama” and that although he portrayed a happy relationship to the public it was quite the opposite. The song is very good and despite our opinion of how tacky it is to put something so personal out there for the sake of helping your career along we think this will give Usher another fan favorite. Fear not because Raymond vs. Raymond is here to rescue you all from the lackluster Here I Stand.

• Burke Debuts Following the Trend but Catchy Nonetheless

  Lat year’s winner of UK’s X-Factor, Alexandra Burke, first single was premiered yesterday. The Phantom Boyz produced “Bad Boys” features US hip-pop artist Flo-Rida and was described by Popjustice as “Literally amazing & phenomonal”. The popular site also said the intro of “Bad Boys” is a cross between Girls Aloud “Biology” and Britney Spears “Womanizer”.

  Let’s start with the positive. After taking a few listens to the CDQ this song will have you hooked. The hook is incredibly catchy and the Flo-Rida verse fits well with the song. On the contrary, this is not what we thought Alexandra would release as a first single especially how she said she wanted to go the urban route, from what she displayed on X-Factor and citing Beyoncé as her favorite artist. Stepping aside from the fact that this will score #1 someplace it really is very generic when compared to what is being done by those other striving artists. We doubt this will have the international appeal “Bleeding Love” did. We’ll see what else Alexandra comes with in the upcoming months.

• Whitney Looks to You

  Everyone’s ears are becoming reacquainted with Whitney Houston’s voice since “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” was used a promotional buzz last month. Now the title track of the album has been released. It’s uncertain whether or not this is another promotional song or if it will be an accompanying single to “Million Dollar Bill” featuring Swizz Beatz.

  Like we said the other day Whitney is back; her music seems to a be true a reflection of where she is today. People may complain that this is not a progression of any sound of hers but in this case it’s not the point. This is not a trendy album that she and Clive have concocted; it’s an album of classics that will still be able to be played umpteen years from now.

  The song itself is very powerful. We may have received more of a thrill after listening to the snippet than this full version but it’s still a great song nonetheless. Also, not to be disrespectful but it would be cool if the studio version of the R. Kelly’s version is released because it very much rivals that of Whitney’s rendition.

  Hot97 just premiered the most anticipated song of the week in the urban community 30 minutes late. Yup, Jay-Z’ official first single for The Blueprint³ entitled “Run This Town” with Rihanna singing the hook and Kanye assisting with an added verse just dropped.

  Hmmm it’s an alright song nothing to be blown away by; Rihanna’s vocals are still on the same level as they were last year and Kanye’s verse is the hottest part of the whole song. No matter what this will get airplay like nothing else. So go ahead and give it a listen.

• Confusion. Frankmusik and Tinchy Come Together For the Remix

  It feels like we’ve been waiting for months for this song to leak in full. Some time ago Popjustice teased us with a 30 second snippet of this remix with Tinchy Stryder. Now we have the full HQ version which after listening to it, is semi-amazing; some of Tinchy’s verses could be removed because they clash with the rest of the song at some points. Despite that this song will be on repeat. Complete Me in stores in the UK on July 27, 2009.

• Nelly’s “Manos Al Aire” in CDQ

  Finally the CDQ of Nelly Furtado’s first single “Manos Al Aire” has leaked. This will be off of her upcoming Spanish under the title Mi Plan.

  This a great song. Her vocals suit the organic sound of the song. It definitely would fit it in with the tracks of her previous albums like Folklore. There is also some mainstream appeal to this song which never hurts. Nelly’s next English album estimated to hit stores by this year’s end or the early part of next year.

• The Decision is Final

  This rumored buzz single leaked for Brandy’s forthcoming sixth album a week or so ago featuring Ne-Yo. Now “Decisions” is here in its full-mastered format. Still a great song and it’s even better in HQ. You see we are audiophiles (“someone with with an interest in high fidelity sound reproduction and its associated technology”) so the quality of a song alone is able to sway our opinion.

  And the official countdown to the Blueprint 3 can begin now. Blogs are going crazy that the new street single from Jay-Z has premiered. The song is entitled “D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)” and produced by No I.D. and Kanye West. The question now is this the official riddance of the trendy vocal assistant or is it just Jay-Z spitting his hard rhymes.

  This is not the official first single. July is when the radio single will drop, it being entitled “Off That” and featuring Drake. Drake really is making quite the name for himself in the industry with labels reportedly offering him $2 million in advance. Smash your ears into it and be on the lookout for the CDQ on Sunday.
