An unreleased cut from Ciara’s Basic Instinct made its way online, not too long ago. The song is entitled “Love’s Funny” and its simplistic beauty is what will touch you.
The song does not fit in with the rest of the album but it certainly stands on its own. Ciara is not known for her vocals but ironically the vocals make this song with its simple piano backing.
Proph whipped up a nice post comparing the promo schedule of Ciara compared to Keri Hilson’s (VIEW HERE). It all goes to show that Ciara has not reached her maximum potential and most likely never will… Look above, that photo alone shows she has the look game on lock and this bonus track displays where she shines in music.
The Basic Instinct bonus, “Listen To My Song,” leaked in CDQ and this The-Dream & Tricky Stewart creation shows off just how well Ciara rides a midtempo with a slamming melody.

So much for slow leaking, Ciara’s Basic Instinct is spreading through the blogosphere as we type. All eleven tracks are now available to listen to, in full CDQ. After an entire listen, we’ve come to the conclusion that the album is… BASS; each and every track is made for subwoofers. Ciara still keeps her exploration of Pop but has primarily returned to the sound of her Goodies days.
One of the better cuts from the album is definitely track four: “Heavy Rotation.” The song has some Pop appeal but the bass could easily push this song on the urban charts. Another catch about this song is the melody which is just that feel-good dance vibe.

Listen to two other bass-HEAVY tracks from the album: “Girls Get Your Money” & “Yeah I Know” after…
Ciara’s fourth studio LP, Basic Instinct, will hit stores on December 14 and the tracks are slowly starting to leak. The latest leak is track number eight, “You Can Get It,” produced and written by Tricky Stewart and The-Dream.
If you’ve heard any of Tricky’s and The-Dream’s work before then you’ve heard this. It’s their signature R&B midtempo tune; Ciara rides the beat in a familiar fashion. It’s a nice sounding track, all in all.

Well looky here, Ciara’s Basic Instinct is to be released in a few short weeks and it seems like not a lick of promotion has been laid upon this album. Well a little reminder popped up yesterday reminding everyone that the album is still green-lit for December 14; thirty second snippets of all eleven tracks were released.
From the sound of it, Basic Instinct seems to be solid. Aside from all the songs that have leaked onto the net, track four, “Heavy Rotation,” is the best sounding track. There is a lot of Bass usage on the album whilst trying to show Ciara off in a less-glamorous, more-urban light. Take a listen to the sampler below.

In addition to the sampler, the “Urban Bass Remix” of “Gimme Dat,” produced by Soundz, hit the net. Included are brand new vocals, lyrics and a slammin’ new beat. They lowered the tempo and… just listen below.

Ciara never made it on the final version of Usher’s “Hot Tottie” but no worries because Usher assists on this new Ciara leak. The song, entitled “Turn It Up,” is just a leak and has not been confirmed to appear on CiCi’s Basic Instinct.
Ciara is following the pack by going the Dance route for this uptempo track. It is definitely something different from all the urban that she’s been promising her fans for this forthcoming album. No complaints though because the song does not come off as desperate but comes off as a fun rush of energy.

Ciara stans and casual fans can rest easy now. With 3 videos out already for this era (“Ride,” “Speechless and “Gimme Dat”) it would be a shame if another video was released before Basic Instinct‘s release. No worries though, last night on Ustream, Ciara confirmed the release date of Basic Instinct: (more…)
Things are warming up as the official album cover for Ciara’s Basic Instinct, out August 17, just popped up on the net. The cover is a basic done-up beauty shot. One word to sum up Ciara and this cover, GORGEOUS!
As Ciara promised in previous interviews, she’s going home with her second single, “Gimme Dat,” and sound for her forthcoming album. The single, chalked full of bass and we mean the kind that will have your car vibrating without the volume being turned up to the max, is lifted from her fourth studio album, Basic Instinct, out August 17.
Guess what? The song is uptempo and does not feature a millisecond of electro… The Tricky Stewart and Soundz produced “Gimme Dat” is pure “fiya,” meant for the dance floor and will have radios crushin’. In a recent interview Ciara said Basic Instinct will in fact be “bass heavy” and will be a mix of all three of her previous albums: R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop. Well y’know how we be stans for anything with a deep bassline…
Before the album arrives next month there will be a Basic Instinct mixtape, so look out for that. “Ride” has attained success with minimal promotion and “Gimme Dat” could blow up so we ask Ciara’s team (if you can see this) to promote Promote PROMOTE!

After the failure of last year’s Fantasy Ride, due to the gash of leaks, Ciara headed back into the studio towards the end of 2009 to record her upcoming fourth studio LP.
Fast forward two leaks and a few months later and we have the first official single from the project. Last week we were privileged to an exclusive listen of the first single entitled “Ride” which features fellow ATL native, Ludacris. Of course, we only could post the review today because of legal reasons. So go on to read two very different reviews from C & S.
C’s Review
“Ride” takes us back to 2004, the Goodies days when Ciara was the Princess of Crunk&B… Upon first listen, this was just another rehash of Ciara’s better days. Then it became clear that this type of music is Ciara’s rightful lane. The midtempo urban tune doused in a sophisticated “ghetto swagger” quickly becomes addictive and it will be a very weird occurrence if urban radio, at least, does not acknowledge this song. Oh, of course Ludacris lays down his signature style of rapping to take this song up a notch. C approves this CiCi track!
S’ Review
I find this song highly annoying. It shows no vocal growth or range. She is one of those artists that will make it on beats and being pretty and a good dancer. Ludacris, I cant say helped it, he was alright. There was nothing new or cool about the beat, it was typical Ciara. I can see the video of her dancing extremely sexy or riding some sort of electric bull but I will listen to it again. Maybe the song will grow on me.
