• Alexander McQueen, His Last Collection

  Two days ago in Paris, the final pieces Alexander McQueen completed before his passing in February were shown before a private audience.

  The show only consisted of 16 looks but they were all exceptional. Lots of gold was used in the pieces, most notably the closing piece which was a coat made of gold feathers; it brought the private audience to tears.

  McQueen had the skill of blending ancient history and cyberspace to a perfect blend. The guy was extraordinary, no hiding that.

• Lady GaGa Performs Another Showstopper At 2010 Brit Awards

  Lady GaGa put forth her best liturgical/vogue choreography for another great performance at the 2010 Brit Awards. In a performance in which she dedicated the late Alexander McQueen, GaGa gave an angelic acoustic rendition of “Telephone” then a very “expressive” version of “Dance In the Dark.”

  Not to sound like a biased unreasonable fan but GaGa is the great… WAIT! we stop there. It literally scares us how good and how much GaGa is evolving in such a short time span. If she expects to have longevity then how will she be able to keep up with it all. It’s only been about 1.5 years since all eyes landed on her. If GaGa can keep the reinvention going for the next 20-30 years then HEY, she will be a GREAT of our generation. Either that or she will be burnt out in no time. • The Final Version of GaGa’s “Bad Romance”

  We all thought this past Saturday, during one of Lady GaGa’s performances on SNL, we would get to hear the final version of “Bad Romance”. What we heard was a short snippet of an acoustic version but we had yet to determine if the final edit was better than the lackluster demo. So today GaGa notified her followers via Twitter that the song would be played during the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 show.

  Hmmm, we’re still on the fence with this one because 1: the quality is very poor and 2: it doesn’t sound that much different from the demo. The song is not really much different than the RedOne hits that has helped made GaGa who she is. In her defense this is a re-release of an album so she could say she’s keeping with the theme/sound of the album. BUT at the same time GaGa is ever-evolving. I mean how many times has she flipped the script on her look alone since the summer of 2008? We’ll probably end up enjoying the song anyway when it leaks in CDQ.
