In what seems like almost half a decade, the release of of Dirty Money’s Last Train to Paris will be here on December 14. Amazon.com put the snippets up for preview. For an album that suffered pushback after pushback, is all the steam gone or did it make for a better album?

Being fair, you cannot properly judge an album based on the snippets but after listening through Last Train to Paris’… the album is only decent. It’s not average sounding which is great but it is  not excellent either. Maybe the thoughts will change once the album is here in full. Listen after…

LISTEN TO SNIPPETS

Some new RiRi hit the net last night: two new promotional pictures and the album snippets for LOUD. Whilst we won’t give our full opinion on the album just yet, from the snippets, the album sounds GREAT. There really are no fillers, the sound is more urban than Europop and Rihanna is simply on fire. We cannot wait to hear “Cheers (Drink to That)” in the club.

UPDATE: Yup, LOUD should leak in full within in the next few days. In addition to the album snippets leaking earlier, we now have the 3rd single from the project to listen to. The Stargate-produced “S&M” offers… Not feeling this song much. It’s catchy, just a little, with lines like “Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me” but it’s so uninspired like “Only Girl (In the World)” is that you can’t help but shrug your shoulders to it. Okay, you have Rihanna’s Rated R which is probably the most anticipated album this quarter of the year and then you look at the other end of the spectrum then there’s Leslie’s Transition. It just seems that absolutely no one is interested in this album but that’s to be expected when you’re dealing with a mature and classy guy. Leslie is talented and it shows from the preview clips. The music is signature R. Les; lots of mid-tempos, keyboards and synths. If you haven’t picked up his debut album yet, go out an get Ryan Leslie. PRE-ORDER HERE.

Was that Amerie? I think this is the first Amerie album that we like as a whole. We never really liked her music despite her being a true talent but this album is sticking with us. Even “Why R U” sounds good listening to it in the context of the album and that song was not our thing. We’d have to say that our favorite from the preview clips has to be the Jim Jonsin produced “Swag Back”. PRE-ORDER HERE.

It seems like Leona Lewis has gone the route for a lot more uptempo songs this time. From all the previous leaks we definitely feel this album does not live it up to Spirit. After listening to the snippets, the album sounds a lot better but at the same time the portions of the songs they chose has made us realize that whilst Lewis’ voice is incredible her music is just too safe and soulless. Eveything is too structured and manufactured. With that said we’re still looking forward to hear the complete album. PRE-ORDER HERE.

After reports that She Wolf was pushed back to a November release, the album still seems to be on track for a October 9 release. With the release date in near sight it’s only normal that the album preview is revealed and Amazon is the place for that preview.

When the snippets were leaking about a two weeks ago the album sounded like a let down but after listening to the tracks in chronological order the album seems to be pretty decent. However, this album almost feels like a rip off. Reason being, Shakira only releases a new album every few years and technically there are only 9 new songs from the album. The other 4 are repeats; 3 of them are just Spanish translations and 1 is a remix. Oh, Wyclef Jean and Shakira will NOT have another worldwide smash on their hands with “Spy”. Besides that Shakira delivered with this album.

With the release of Mario’s fourth album, D.N.A., to be released mid October, Amazon has the 30 sec preview of each track.

Overall, we’d say the track list is decent but there are a handful of songs that have leaked from him that we rather see on there. A proper opinion is due when we here the album in full.
