It’s been a little over 12 years since director James Cameron worked on a film; does a film by the name of Titanic ring a bell? Avatar, his latest ‘masterpiece’, is an action/adventure/fantasy 3D movie to be released on December 10, 2009 in regular and IMAX theaters alike. The hype surrounding the movie is so incredible that the main site crashed for some time because of the horde of viewers trying to purchase tickets in advance.

Avatar takes us to a spectacular new world beyond our imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on a journey of redemption and discovery, as he leads a heroic battle to save a civilization. The film was first conceived by Cameron 14 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not yet exist. Now, after four years of actual production work, Avatar delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film, disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story.

First off we have to say that for the longest we confused this movie with M. Night Shyamalan‘s film Avatar: The Last Airbender. After reading the synopsis it still doesn’t stick… From the visuals alone the movie looks to be massive but on the contrary nothing about the settings are that beautiful. We don’t know, as the months pass we’ll make up our mind as to whether or not we want to see it or not.

Who knew when this leaked a few months ago as “Poke Her Face” this would be CuDi’s official second single. The sneek peak leaked on Friday and this morning we have the video premiere.

Love this! Last week when being interviewed on Hot 97 by Angie Martinez CuDi revealed that although the nature of the song is very sexual the video would have no sexual themes. This is correct; what Kanye has concocted is a visually appealing, almost electic video that may not fit well with the song but does so in the end. The horizontal split screen is a cool effect. The pastel colors against the grey tones complement and contrast each other quite well. This video is just classy overall. thumbs up!

So this trailer must have sent those pesky Twilight stans in to a craze. The second installment of the Twilight saga, New Moon, had its first trailer revealed today. Now I am one of those people who heard of Twilight when the first movie arrived because I did not read any of the books. So I guess you can say I was able to give the movie an unbiased opinion. Average at best is what I could say about the series, I’m still questioning what’s the big deal with the series.

Then I watched this trailer and will admit that going to the theater to watch this won’t be so bad. For one, the cinematographer decided to give the characters a little bit of pigmentation as if the sun actually shines. Secondly there just seems to be more meat on the plate. Too often with these sagas the producers/directors can’t manage to introduce the story and characters along with raising the entertainment factor level high enough to keep the viewer intrigued. This is speaking for someone who is just watching a movie not a devoted fan. Check the trailer out below, it does look promising.

I was holding off on this trailer because all I constantly heard was “Mariah, Mariah, Mariah” and she has not proven herself as a great actress yet. As days passed I heard more names; “Lenny Kravitz, Oprah Winfrey, Paula Patton, Sherri Shepherd, Mo’Nique, etc…” so I gave it a look. Wow o wow this trailer blew me away, I quickly sent this over to S so she could see. I foresee Academy Awards for this movie and if not other prestigious accolades.

The movie is based on the novel Push by Sapphire and is about a 16 year old named ‘Precious’ who has been abused in every way possible and has the thought engraved in her mind that she is worthless. Mo’Nique plays her abusive mother and abusive is highly understating her behavior. I hope we get to see ‘Precious’ give her a good cut ASS in this movie because Mo’s character is beyond crazy. Mariah Carey plays a welfare worker and from the preview it looks light years beyond Glitter. Wait she gets her props for Glitter because people thinks she did so horribly that they still remember her and the movie. Oh there’s so many elements from that trailer alone to analyze that buying a ticket to see it when it hits theaters is more than worth it.
