Video Premiere: Lil Wayne “Drop the World” feat. Eminem

The video for Lil Wayne’s best song in a long while (personal opinion) has leaked. “Drop the World” featuring Eminem is one of the handful of videos that Lil Wayne shot so that we won’t miss out on seeing him in the media whilst he serves his prison sentence.

The video starts off with empty streets of an urban setting. As the song kicks in gear, so does the song as everything turns into sheer anarchy. The video is very much on the dark side and you know what, we like it.

Video Premiere: Goldfrapp “Rocket”

goldfrapp rocket video

MSN got the exclusive, with the premiere of Goldfrapp’s “Rocket” music video. The video is for the first single, lifted off their upcoming studio album, Head First, out March 22.

Visually, the video is directly related to the single art; a long desert road, loads of pink and neon. In the video Alison plays a truck driver who has duct tape a lover only to shoot him off into space, literally. It’s a cool video, check it out.

Video Premiere: Estelle “Freak”

After a delay, Estelle’s new video for “Freak” is here. The video was directed by Nabil Elderkin who has worked with the likes of Seal, Will.i.am, Common, Mr. Hudson, Kanye West and more.

Elderkin definitely lends his artistic vision to Estelle with this fashion drenched futuristic clip. There are tons of effects in the video and it’s a bit amazing how all that was transformed from a bunch of green screens. It’s a change from Estelle’s more soulful style but it’s an evolution, even if more into the trendy realm.

GO SEE ALICIA KEYS IN CONCERT!

Alicia Keys kicked off her Freedom tour in Canada this past weekend and some lucky concertgoer was able to capture footage. In the video below, is a stirring rendition of “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart.”

If you don’t know, C loves Alicia Keys and loves “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart.” Keys just puts EMPHASIS on those grinding synths and makes it a brand new euphoric experience. There’s a concert in this room right now. We highly recommend you all paying to go see this lady in concert if presented the opportunity.

Video Premiere: Gorillaz “Stylo”

With the leak of their album Plastic Beach today, the first music video of Gorillaz this era was premiered on Youtube today as well. The video for “Stylo,” is a mixture of live action and CGI(Computer-Generated Imagery). The video is set in the desert and involves a car chase. Bruce Willis co-stars in the video.

Thanks to HD we get to watch the video in its clear nature. The visuals are so crisp and rich and the blending of the of the live scenes with the Gorillaz was well done. The car chase and the whole plot of the video was carried out minus any faults. Our eyes were glued to the screen.with interest. The end makes it clear that…

Video Premiere: Ke$ha “Blah Blah Blah”

Current IT party girl, Ke$ha, is on to the next one with her second single, “Blah Blah Blah,” featuring 3oh3! The single which lost some steam on the Billboard Hot 100 should climb again with this video.

The video goes along with all things Ke$ha and just seems like pure nightlife fun. Ke$ha is a few bars too rambunctious for us but we do appreciate her music and ability to makes us start a party whilst driving on a highway. Watch the video below.

Video Premiere: Kanye West “Coldest Winter”

Look, we’re upset, where in the world is the video for “Robocop?” Anyway, we progress.

In a non-surprising move Kanye West releases a new music video from the 808’s & Heartbreak era. He stated in a previous interview that he was going to squeeze this album dry. West went along with Nabil Elderkin, the director responsible for the “Paranoid” and “Welcome to Heartbreak” videos.

The video is deep and dark and revolves around grim reapers and a lady trying to escape. It’s an interesting clip and suits the song well. Check it out!

Also, Kanye West is readying his 5th studio album which already has received praise from Drake but isn’t enough to go by because there probably is a bit of bias in there. Despite that, it’s Kanye and we all know that he is a musical genius.

Video Premiere: Ludacris’ “My Chick Bad” feat. Nicki Minaj & Co.

So another video from Ludacris’ Battle of the Sexes has premiered. This one is for “My Chick Bad” featuring Nicki Minaj. Also, Trina, Eve and Diamond make cameos but it is unclear whether or not the remix video was shot as well as their appearances are less than brief.

The video is decent with it’s all black theme, flashes of red and aggressive nature; it matches the song well. So the video is hot but our general feeling towards Battle of the Sexes isn’t so nice anymore. After listening to other clips from the album it just seems too made for radio in a compromising way… Anyway, we’ll save it for another post, another day.

Video Premiere: Timbaland “Carry Out” feat. Justin Timberlake

Here’s the latest video premiere from Timbaland’s mediocre Shock Value II, “Carry Out” featuring Justin Timberlake.

The video is definitely one of the better to come out of this era with its drive-through theme and neat lighting effects… that’s all. When is Justin going to bless us all with some new music?
