The promo rounds are in full force for GaGa’s Born This Way era. The Lady started off the evening by tweeting:

Congrats to her with with her half a mil. worth of sales and thousands of radio spins. GaGa coming in halfway through the way should lend a favor in helping her keep the top spot for a second week.

GaGa’s interview in Jay Leno was twelve plus minutes of nice conversation. The main points from the interview:

• GaGa told Willow Smith she inspired her to whip her hair during her Grammy performance.
• Madonna & Co. emailed GaGa to give her their blessings on the “Born This Way” single despite thre endless comparisons to “Express Yourself”
• The video for “Born This Way,” shot by fashion photog, Nick Knight, will premiere “very soon.”
• GaGa will be shooting a Monster Ball special for the HBO network.

The 2010 VSFS aired last night on CBS. It was the usual: corny costumes, music and sets with little moments of greatness. It’s great to see the veteran favorites like Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima and Isabeli Fontana. There were lots of nice new faces and bodies. As it stands, one of the newer angels has what it takes to be the leader of the pack: Candice Swanepoel. That Australian is amazing. Watch the full show below.

After some months of waiting the final production of the Britney Spears Glee episode premiered. The episode which saw the cast members cover some of Spears’ most popular songs also contained a handful of cameos by none other than Spears herself.

The Britney Spears episode gave Glee its highest ratings to date with 13.3 million people tuning in and that only counts the US viewers. Heather Morris who plays Brittany S. Pierce on the show was incredible. No disrespect to Britney Spears but the Morris’ choreography and body was a few levels above Britney’s, in her prime. It just worked out all too perfectly. The other cast members also did a great job with their take on Spears’ songs. The entire episode was entertaining and didn’t come off awkward, not once.

Glee returns tonight on the FOX network after a 4 month hiatus at 9:28pm EST, exactly. Episode 14 continues where matters left off last December under the title of “Hell-O.” Included in tonight’s song line-up are “Hello” (Lionel Richie), “Hello, I Love You” (The Doors), “Gives You Hell (All American Rejects)”, “Highway to Hell” (AC/DC), and “Hello, Goodbye” (The Beatles). Also,take a look at the on-set images from the future Lady GaGa themed episode of Glee.

Here’s a song that was played on a few primetime tv shows this past week. The song is entitled “Don’t Hold Your Breath” by UK indie rock back, Athlete. The song is from their fourth studio album Black Swan.

It seems every other month we come across an indie song that we really like. The song starts of with some slow guitar playing then progresses into a raw emotion filled spillage of feelings without being too loud. The main ingredient that helps us to like these songs right away is the television shows they’re placed in. The songs always match the scene as if it were made for it. Definitely listen to this song.

Athlete – Don’t Hold Your Breath

Every year there is at least one breakout television series and with no questions asked, Glee is that series. Tv viewers were given a taste of the show after the season finale of American Idol this past May and it received positive feedback from both viewers and critics. Glee is a musical comedy-drama that airs on FOX, Wednesday nights at 9PM/ET. It focuses on a high school show choir, also known as a Glee club, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. The show follows a hilarious storyline with musical acts in between of the students covering some of the most popular songs from past and present. Of course the show is made-for-television so the characters are stereotypical. There is the popular jock, the popular cheerleader, the overachiever, the emo girl, the boisterous girl, the nerd, the gay and so forth. The show is extremely entertaining and don’t be put off by it because it’s not some poor man’s High School Musical; this show trumps that Disney franchise into the ground.

Each week there are at least 3-5 songs that are covered that fit perfectly into each episode and the next day it is made available for download on iTunes. Well, thanks to Ali we have all the songs to preview. The cast is incredibly talented and on November 3 these songs and others will be released as Glee: The Music, Volume 1. The show has also been picked up for a full season. Be sure to check out a clip after the jump of the show.

Although you expect artists like Mariah Carey to take longer breaks between albums she is currently working on the on the follow up to E=MC². Earlier she revealed the title of her 12th studio album which is Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel via her official TWITTER page.

Alright I’m questioning if this is going to be as big as The Emancipation of Mimi or forgettable like E=MC². She also revealed a few days ago that she is working with Timbaland on this album with him hopefully reinventing his sound. For those of you who do not like change, Mariah will still be working with Tricky Stewart and The-Dream, Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. The album is due out later this year.

We weren’t keeping up with this season of American Idol but we still knew what was going on. With everyone expecting fan-favorite Adam Lambert to win, he did not. Instead Kris Allen won.

He deserved it and this comes off as a win/win situation. What the Idol team will do with Kris Allen is not too far from what he sounds like already, a little more mainstream radio-friendly. On the other hand you have an extremely edgy artist like Adam who is not bound by the Idol team to produce any generic material. So he has the chance to have more control over what he does, cause believe us people will be contacting him for a record deal. Adam’s sportmanship was unbelievable, it’s almost like he was an insider on the decision.

“It’s time,” Madden said. “I’m 73 years old. My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons and their families and their five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I’m home and, more importantly, when I’m not.”

Even if you’re someone who only watched an NFL game a few times you should recognize his voice, it was just that distinguishable. He had an NFL analyst career for 30 years across ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX. For sure it’s gonna be odd watching a game with no Madden in the background but no one can stay around forever.
