Yesterday, Trey Songz announced the title of his fourth studio album to be released on September 14:
“Come see me perform your favorite songs live and hear new music from my upcoming album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, for the first time. With the help of one of the best R&B female vocalists out today, my sister Monica, we promise you a night to remember”.
Passion, Pain & Pleasure, cool, interesting… Trey Songz’s mixtapes are usually better than his LP’s and it will only be a year and a month since the release of the last album, Ready, so who knows what’s the intention behind it. Here’s a new link that’s said to be a Timbaland production and may appear on the new album.

Even if it’s not intentional, we call these last few leaks of M.I.A. quite bright. Reason being, it’s all new M.I.A. but the catch is, none of these recent leaks are to appear on /\/\ /\ Y /\, well except for “Born Free” and “XXXO.” So whilst M.I.A. is teasing us with a new sound, with each new leak, it is either leaving listeners dying to hear the entire album or confused as hell.
“Steppin’ Up” (produced by Rusko) is the latest leak and is filled with LOUD industrial noises and a bit of auto-tune. It’s clear M.I.A. is playing around with the sound her NEET Recordings signees, Sleigh Bells, used on their newly released LP.
It gets better with each new leak. “Steppin Up” is the closest thing to M.I.A.’s old sound but does not compare to Arular or even Kala. We’re not the only ones who feel this way as Diplo tweeted earlier:
“just listened to mastr of the MIA album.. WOW.. my 3 trax are slammin! dunno bout the rest — sounds like skinny puppy ☹ & gives me nightmares☹”
Wow, call that a slap in the face. Diplo, long-time M.I.A. producer and supporter, does not seem to be so much behind Mathangi these days. Maybe it’s a ploy to stir up as much controversy without being over-the-top… All we know is we’re shouting “bus stop” and getting off because this new evolution of M.I.A., thus far, is too far left.
It seems no matter how hard Chris Brown tries he takes another step down. He almost has been lowered to a mixtape artist but that has two upsides for him right now. The first one is he can continue to release all the music he wants to keep the pot boiling and secondly, now that he’s lost the followers who were there because of his popularity he shouldn’t feel the pressure to try to maintain the “image.”
Brown likes to preview new music through his Ustream channel and then a month later the studio version leaks. Three new leaks have surfaced. The first is “Matrix” in which Brown experiments with a rockier sound. “Your Body” has that funkyvibe using live instruments and “Without You” is another one of those pretty ballads.
Usher has had a pretty successful round with Raymond vs. Raymond which means he will be back with another album and who knows, it may finally be the album to top the Confessions era. With that, tracks are still leaking from him. This new one entitled “Love ‘Em All” is produced by Tricky Stewart.
This is a very catchy song with a nice melody and a shallow set of lyrics in which Usher speaks about spreading his love lust for every lady in the club. It doesn’t hold up to the rest of the album but still sounds good enough to get the listener hooked.

The album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, can be seen on the horizon. As we eagerly wait for its arrival, get into this song of epic vibes, “General Patton.”

Ciara has already stepped out on the right foot for her Basic Instinct album with lead single “Ride,” featuring Ludacris. The only thing missing is the uptempo and Ciara answers that in this new leak, made for the clubs, “Get It Girl.”
Ciara stated this forthcoming album will make you dance and “Get It Girl” may be the first bit of music, this era, to make us dance like Crunk&B at its prime. This song is such an urban banger and we love CiCi’s pauses in her vocal delivery. If you’re looking for depth then look elsewhere but if you want to have a fun and free time then listen to this song.

*Eminem Covers Vol. 1, Issue 3 of RESPECT magazine
When the tracklist leaked for Eminem’s Recovery there were 2 shocks, the first was a collaboration with Rihanna and the second was one with P!nk. Well today the P!nk featured, DJ Khalil & Chin Injeti produced “Won’t Back Down” leaked.
We’re still trying to get over the two of them actually collaborating because if we remember they both had two different outlooks on life that just didn’t agree. Hmm, maybe we’re mistaken but whatever it took to bring these two together we’re glad because this song goes hard. P!nk is on hook duties over the urban/rock beat and as usual Eminem is aggressive as hell spitting some amazing lyrics. Recovery >>>> Relapse, okay, good.
It is the month of June which means almost after a year of delays Dirty Money’s Last Train to Paris will finally hit music outlets across the US. Sadly, the singles released from the album have failed to become mainstream’s obsession but that in no way goes hand-in-hand with the direction and quality of the music. We must commend Diddy for thinking outside of the box and creating what so far seems like a very solid album.
The newest collaboration to surface from the project is the Chris Brown entitled “Curse.” The subject matter is about Rihanna a female who cannot be ridden of no matter how much effort is put in. The flow is midtempo and is definitely more of an album track than single material.

“Nicki & Drake Domination” come together once again for a new track set to appear on Drake’s Thank Me Later which is in stores in exactly 2 weeks. The song entitled “Up All Night,” features Nicki Minaj and is produced by Boi 1da.
First off, let’s just say how much we like the dark and bass heavy production. It suits Drake and further makes his “sound” more of a signature one. Oh and could it be any more pleasant to hear Nicki Minaj sound serious instead of sounding like a pinhead spitting ditty nursery rhymes over an uninspired beat.
