It was just last year that Tinchy Stryder and Taio Cruz collaborated for the former’s second album, Catch 22, and now the two are back again collaborating for the former’s third album, Third Strike. The potential radio hit entitled “Second Chance” is the second single lifted from Stryder’s upcoming album which will be available in the UK on November 8, 2010.

The song takes right after everything that Cruz has touched lately; the dance movement  over supposed-to-be urban music. The song has such a purdy little melody and is, of course, catchy. As tired as this dance craze is in Top 40 music this is one of the exceptions and receives endless listens.

The stadium-sized music of Tennesse rockers, Kings of Leon, has set down once again with the single and video release of their “spiritual” single, “Radioactive.” The single is the first lifted from their forthcoming studio album entitled Come Around Sundown. The new album will be released on October 18 in the UK and October 19 in the US.

We cannot be true critics of their music as we caught on when the mainstream did. However, we can say that even though their gospel upbringing can be seen and heard in this new single and video, the massive sound of previous hits, “Use Somebody” and “Sex On Fire,” can still be heard. Take a look and listen as the Kings dig down to their Southern roots all whilst rocking with the gospel folk.

Oh how these Rihanna eras come and go so quickly. At 6am ET this morning, RyanSeacrest.com exclusively premiered a minute-long preview of Rihanna’s first single, “Only Girl (In the World),” from her fifth studio album, LOUD, out November 2.

The Stargate-produced “Only Girl…” is a return to the singles artist Rihanna after her attempt at being a true “artist” with Rated R was not well received. The song rides that Euro Dance/Pop sound to death and has the Bajan following trends instead of creating them. Here’s what she told RihannaDaily about the new album:

This song should definitely do well with radio and will give the Top 10 magnet another hit to add to her already long list of chart toppers. It’s just a pity that on her fifth album in her five year-long career, she has to depend on the success of her last single to define her value in the industry and even to the casual listeners. Fans and stans are excluded because they’ll have your back even when you do the most mess.

UK rapper Tinie Tempah is looking to score a hit on the charts with his upcoming studio album, Disc-Overy, out September 27 in the UK. The rapper is making his sound a little less grimey being backed by a nice melody and having the vocal stylings of Kelly Rowland in a song entitled “Invincible.”

The track is definitely what “they’re” listening to in the UK. The melody goes hard and for a Hip-Pop song, there still is an uplifting feeling. It’s obvious the UK can’t get enough of Ms. Rowland and she can at least count on her album doing really well there.

We posted this song along with “Monster” HERE and shortly after it was announced that Nicki Minaj’s second single would be the Will.i.am featured “Check It Out.” The insanely catchy song follows the formula of “Your Love.” That formula of making an über radio friendly jam that samples an already famous song from the past. In this case, “Check It Out” samples 1979’s “Video Killed the Radio Star,” by The Bugles.

Minaj has made it clear how “crucial” her debut is for female rappers. From all of Nicki’s reassuring words and the leaks, Pink Friday should be a solid effort. The overly cute Selena Gomez of Selena Gomez & The Scene is about to release the group’s latest single, “A Year Without Rain,” from their sophomore album of the same title. The album will hit stores on September 21. We’ve always overlooked Gomez because she just seemed like one of the Disney crowd aka a Hollywood Records product. Then it finally hit us that she is exactly what we always say the overly sexual female performers should be: class and intelligence over sex and scandalous behavior.

“A Year Without Rain” is an almost perfect slice of Euro-inspired Dance/Pop. The intro sounds a little like Coldplay’s “Clocks” before switching into a euphoric thumping dance beat. Not too long ago, just under a year, Shakira released her greatly overlooked She Wolf album. Now, the naturally sexy international artist is releasing a brand new album entitled Sale El Sol. The behind-the-scenes videos of her brand new single, “Loca,” featuring Dizzee Rascal made its way online and now we finally get to hear both the English and Spanish versions of the songs.

Thanks to Proph we know that song borrows from El Cata’s “Loca Con Su Tiguere.” The song takes us on a trip back to the old Shakira with all its Latin elements whilst implementing new sounds such as Cuban music and the “grimey” Dizzee. The song is a definite winner and further shows off how Shakira can pull off being a cultural artist with so much Pop appeal so well. Listen to both the English and Spanish versions below.

The guy with the smooth beats and vocals, Sketch, is releasing a new single, produced by himself and written and co-wriiten by himself and Kieran Chase. “Once Upon a Time” will hit Bahamian radio waves this week.

Sketch’s brand new jam starts off midtempo to warm up the listener then the tempo picks up and the bass kicks in. The hyper Pop/Dance beat sets off and his “party” song is is full motion. Here’s what he had to say about the why he created his latest:

“I was in the studio thinking about what I should do next as a new single and started listening to Taio Cruz – Dynamite, Flo Rida – Club Cant Handle Me then Jessica Jarrell – Up And Running and realized that i didn’t have any party songs. As Flamingo nears its release, more songs are appearing. The latest from Brandon Flowers’ debut solo LP is a new wave track entitled “Swallow It.”

Flowers describes this song as his most “ambitious” from the new album. From the get-go it’s not as sonically appealing as what Flowers usually puts out but it wastes no time for the guitar, drums and synths to kick in to make this song a winner. It’s a tad bit different from the usual but after a few more listens we’ll love it just as much as the rest.

Funky soul singer, Cee-Lo Green, is gearing up for the release of another solo album under the title of Cee-Lo Green Is The Lady Killer. The singer has a fun and rude new single, simply titled “F**k You,” and it will be released on October 4 in the UK and US.

*Laughs* This song woke us up better than any caffeine could. What gets us is the song is so polite sounding then he comes so boldly and bluntly with those two words. Green has always been a character and this song is just pure fun to listen to. Check it out!

Sky Ferreira and her label enlist Ryan Tedder to produce her US debut entitled “Obsession.” The single is set to appear on her debut album which will be released in January 2011. The single opens up with an intro comparable to P!nk’s “So What” and quickly progresses into a Electropop anthem.

After listening to the preview last week we were not sold and still, after listening to the full version it’s not our cup of tea; we just like “One” too much. However, this song has what it takes to shoot Ferreira into the sky to the nearest star. The states better look out because they have a new artist to be obsessed with.

Last week we ripped and posted the snippet of Kanye West’s second single when it was just titled “All Of the Nights.” Today, a tagged studio version has leaked and we hate to seem dramatic but the snippet drowned us with a feeling that pushed out a tear…

That intro with those instruments is just moving. We can picture it now, a prolonged version of the intro is played as Kanye rises onto the stage on one of those elevating platforms then everything just EXPLODES as the drums kick in.

After British Pop duo, The Ting Tings, conquered crossover success they caught the eye of a heavy hitter in the industry. Yeap, Jay-Z later signed them to his Roc Nation label and since then they’ve been working on material for their forthcoming album entitled Krust.

The Ting Tings and Roc Nation somehow managed to make a song bit-size enough for US radio as well and keep their signature and kooky style. With its disco/electro sound and other shoulder rockin’ beats, the duo is well on their way to lighting up some airwaves.

Keri Hilson’s sophomore LP was supposed to be out from May but pushbacks and delays are all too common for musical acts today. Well about 3 months later, the first single, “Breaking Point,” from Hilson’s sophomore effort, No Boys Allowed, is here:

“Breaking Point” was written by Keri Hilson and produced by superproducer Timbaland. “ No Boys Allowed” is slated for a Late 2010 release and a video for the song will be shot in Atlanta early September. The song is about that breaking point that every woman gets to when the excuses given by boys are no longer accepted.Keri comments “ If you’re not man enough to step to the plate, then keep it moving”.

Well for one, Hilson’s new look is scary and secondly the single is decent. The single should do well; for those ladies who need a song to speak up for them. Hilson’s vocals are pretty as usual and it’s a splash in the face to see her go after a soulful sound rather than the Dance/Pop.

Mainstream’s current lover, Katy Perry, is exactly one week away from releasing her sophomore studio album, Teenage Dream. With her first single, “California Gurls,” sitting pretty at #4 on the Hot 100 and her second, “Teenage Dream,” cracking the top 10 at #9, this new album of hers is looking to be a huge top seller. Today, the last promo track from iTunes is here, this one is entitled “E.T.”

“E.T.” was one of the first demos to leak from this album and after a little polishing it definitely beams. The song has a rock-stadium chanting vibe: vaguely similar to the classic “We Will Rock You” except much more Pop. With all this success Perry is experiencing thus far, she may be able to stretch this album for about 1.5 to 2 years and release this as a single.

I guess we can label today “Unofficial Kanye Day” as Kanye West unexpectedly premiered a new song and chatted it up with Radio veteran Angie Martinez on Hot97. So in a list of bullet points here’s what happened, starting last night:

• West tweeted “This shit I got in studio now don’t make no sense Ima leak this shit 2mrw !!! Ima go up to Angie’s!! I’m extremely serious!!!”
• West lived up to his word and appeared on Angie Martinez’s show to premiere a song entitled “See Me Now” featuring Charlie Wilson and Beyoncé.
• West gave a very entertaining interview in which he spoke about his relationship with Amber Rose, dealing with his mother’s passing, speaking about his attitude amongst a few other hard hitting issues pertaining to himself.

Apparently, “See Me Now” which is produced by West himself, No I.D. & Lex Luger was two years in the making. Charlie Wilson recorded his vocals a few weeks ago, West recorded his part at 4am this morning and Beyoncé submitted the chorus an hour later at 5am. The song is not intended to be released as a single but West just thought it was a song people needed whilst it’s still summer

Back to West’s interview, he spoke of who he thought Rapper #1 and #2 are in the music industry:

“The scariest artist in the game right now… The scariest artist is definitely Nicki Minaj… I think she has the most potential out of everyone to be the #2 rapper of all time ’cause nobody’s gonna be bigger than Eminem. Eminem’s the #1 rapper of all time.”

Kanye also stated Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, KiD CuDi and Drake as threat.

Sky Ferreira has been massaging our ears with the musical greatness that is “One.” Unfortunately, “One” is too good for the US market therefore she is releasing another single to cater to the fickled country. The result, a manufactured but still catchy song chip entitled “Obsession.”

Compared to what we’ve heard from Ferreira already, the song is a complete let down and even the singer herself felt that way when she was interviewed by popular blogsite ArjanWrites last month. We will not be completely hard on the song and can admit that the song has an ultra catchy nature which will surely do its job on American radio.

Another week has greeted us which means another track off of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream has been released via iTunes. In the Christopher “Tricky” Stewart produced “Circle the Drain,” Katy Perry has completely left behind her happy-go-lucky nature. After hearing her dedicate her song “Ur So Gay” to her ex, Travie McCoy, during her concert in The Bahamas she has gone ahead and created an entire song, bashing him.

With an Explicit Content stamp on the single cover, Perry is slinging the F bomb around like never before. The song itself is given an edge due to the use of profanity but strip it away and you have yourself a made for radio hit with its wide appeal to the US market. Teenage Dream is quickly and easily becoming a new peak for Ms. Perry and we can’t even begin to imagine how she will fair on album number three. The whirlwind of promotion for Katy Perry’s sophomore album, Teenage Dream, is in overdrive and there’s just no stopping this evolving Pop star this time around. As part of Teenage Dream’s promo plan another cut from the album was released via iTunes. The song is entitled “Not Like the Movies” and is produced by Greg Wells.

Katy Perry kicked things off with the fun and carefree “California Gurls,” then went a bit more Pop/Rock with second single “Teenage Dream” and then went fresh wanting to see some guy’s “Peacock.” With “Not Like the Movies” we hear a return to Perry’s vocal talents as displayed in such songs from her debut like “Thinking of You.”

Boi eh, everything released from this album is sounding so good and has made us Katy Perry fans despite her first album being quite the solid collection of music. There must be a team of scientists and top notch marketers behind this album because it seems they are hitting every avenue to make the album debut with soaring sales’ figures. One thing is for sure, there will be no sophomore slump for Miss Perry.
