Hey, come closer, we’re going to let you in on a little secret. We didn’t really like “Power” as much as we thought but after this morning that has changed, completely. The official remix to the West’s lead single from Dark Twisted Fantasy, out November 16, burned the hell out of everyone’s speakers.

The remix which features Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz and John Legend takes “Power ” about 10 levels higher than it was before. There is a bit of variation to the original production with Jay-Z ripping the song a nice one and John Legend lending his vocals to the background. The highlight of the song has to be when Swizz samples the 90’s classic “I’ve Got the Power” by Snap creating a foundation for West to build a house of rhymes on. LISTEN.TO.THIS.METEOR!

Nicki Minaj’s cliche style of rapping does not do anything for the song. You have to press rewind a few times just to make sure that was Minaj and not just some background vocals. After a few spins of this remixed track, it helps us to understand what Minaj was going for with “Massive Attack”; left-field ambush on radio but came off the wrong way. Either way, this remix was unnecessary.

Dj Ampero is at it again, this time working his magic on duo Dromomania’s “Theme” and “Day U Die.” Here’s how Ampero describes the track:

This is the latest and it’s another, featuring local artists, Dromomania to be exact .
The beat is a mesh of “We Are The People” – Empire of The Sun and “City of Gods” – Pitbull. The vocals are compiled from “Theme from Dromomania” and “Day U Die” by Dromomania and snippets of Diana Ross’ cover of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

This mash-up i so subtle and smooth with each track complementing each other’s tempo and flow so perfectly.

For those of you who may like the original “Ride” but thought the tempo was lacking, then this new official remix of the single should be your cup of tea. Ciara puts a twist on the single for a 90’s booty bass vibe.

This remix is the sound that made Ciara who she is; an uptempo jam you can have fun and freestyle dance to. To be honest this would be a better contender for a first single than the original, it just would wake the listener up and keep them listening, perfect for summer.

Don’t worry though, Ciara spoke about the next single and said it would be something that will make you get up and move. Thumbs up to this nice lil remix. Spotted at Toya’s.

We like Shanell’s Shut Up N Listen mixtape n y’know R.A.P.P. Quelle’s Abstract Art Quelle’s World Vol 1 been receivin’ the constant plays. So what happens when both are blended? You get a killer remix to Shanell’s “Hear Me Calling.”

Quelle just flows with the melody oh so complementary, guy really rides this beat. The song already has that anthem feel to it and that feeling only magnifies with a little bit of hard edge from Quelle.

Here’s a new one from The Bahamas’ very own Quelle.

The hottest Jamaican culture tune Our current Jamaican culture obsession, “Hold Yuh” by Gyptian, has received the remix treatment from none other than Mz. Barbie, Nicki Minaj. New York’s Hot97 just premiered the track.

This song is the exception to most Jamaican music right now, it runs circles around the current crop of useless Dancehall, Reggae, Bashment, etc… Minaj tries to complement the song and does fairly well, not too bad. Gyptian – Hold Yuh feat. Nicki Minaj

Raquel Oliver turns the tempo down as she puts her own twist on the classic Bob Marley “Waiting In Vain” for a single entitled “Love.” The song borrows Marley’s vocals which adds chemistry and makes for a pretty smooth jam. Get this, the song has reached #27 on the singles chart in the UK, not bad at all.

Next up, is Pop/Urban duo NCity adding some verses to the radio hit “Replay,” performed by Iyaz. Both ladies add some great flavor to the song and do not sound out of place in the least bit. In fact, they fit the song well enough that this could be sent out for distribution as the original remix.

If ever we have a chance to go to a small venue where KiD CuDi is performing, WE’LL BE THERE. A week later and we have another exclusive from DJ Ampero. This new mash-up/remix is entitled “Sexy in Tom’s Diner” and the vocals are Spragga Benz’s “How You Look Sexy So?,” the beat is Susan Vega’s “Tom’s Diner” with a loop of Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up.”

The song gets off to a rough start but progresses into a pretty hot track. In other news, Ampero will be releasing an free of charge LP that will consist of 10 tracks under the title Gallimaufy.

It was a nice treat to open up our email and see this in there. Bahamian DJ Ampero dropped a little something off, it’s a remix mash-up of Chris Brown’s “Transform Ya” and “Under Mi Sensi” (Mr. Vegas, Alozade, Hollow Point).

So we were over at Arjanwrites since we had not been in almost 6 months; checking out what was new in the dance and electro world. It was not long before we stumbled upon a remix of a song we’ve been listening to for a year: Vistoso Bosses’ “Delirious.” So we went ahead and downloaded the song but kept our fingers crossed that this remix would not be a waste. The remixer/producer, Dr. Rosen Rosen, had this to say about the remix:

“The original version of Vistoso Bosses ‘Delirious’ is a cute pop tune that could easily be heard at 3:00pm on Disney TV– I decided to flip the track 180 degrees and turn it into a song that could be heard late-night on Cinemax. And if that’s not enough, there’s also a verse from Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em. [SOURCE]“

It is so true that in the pop world, production is 80%; there’s just no denying that fact. With that, we were too relieved when we pressed play and heard the song. He revived an already great catchy pop tune by carefully crafting a more grown-up and edgier production to go along with the lyrics. We give this remix 2 thumbs up, no questions about it.

We’ll be honest, to this very second we cannot get into the original of Gorillaz new single, “Stylo.” We just have had enough of this dark theme running through a lot of our favorite music; it works for some and not really others. Our whole opinion has changed now with this Labrinth SNES remix featuring Tinie Tempah.

The song is a bit more upbeat now and it’s not so dark anymore plus who doesn’t love vintage video game sounds. From the tidbits that have been leaked from Plastic Beach we probably will like the album and it will be critically accalimed but it most likely won’t be a personal favorite.

UK electronic artist, Dan Black, is about to embark on his US journey and to set things off right he has rereleased his single “Symphonies” except this time it features emcee KiD CuDi.

We already loved this song when we first heard it last year with it’s “Umbrella’s” drum and hi-hat combo. Then there are those strings which we can’t get enough of and to top it all off is the incredible vibe KiD CuDi gives the song: it’s pure euphoria.

The light and upbeat original is transformed into a song soaked in goth with a haunting drum beat and very dark synths. The song is a lot harder now as Jones’ vocals have been lowered in the pitch department. If a video was ever made for this song; ALL BLACK EVERYTHING!

Diplo went in on Dirty Money’s “Angels” and turned it into a dark club banger from a mellow hip-hop ringer. The song is fully electronic now with lots of bass. Check it out!
