Oh, it has been some time since we’ve posted a mash-up on here. The Hood Internet, whose main focus is to bring its viewers original mash-ups has knocked it out of the park with this new mash-up of M.I.A.’s “Sunshowers” and Vampire Weekend’s “Giving Up The Gurl.”
What a pairing,”Sunshowers” has been out for about 5 years and “Giving Up the Girl” is just plain indie candy: they’re both so good. This has us cringing for that new M.I.A. and has us listening to Contra non-stop.
Hey guys, we hope all of your holidays are going well… Let’s get into it.
Wow, has this year flown by or what because it’s that time when DJ Earworm releases his annual mash up of the top 25 Billboard Hot 100 hits. If the song saturated the radio this past year then it’s in this mash-up.
EPIC! Every year, we listen to his mash-ups and we get this chilling feeling. DJ Earworm knows how to blend all the hits into one massive tune and the caliber of them all leaves us with an overwhelming feeling. We just want to dance the year away.
From Beyoncé to the Black Eyed Peas to Kings of Leon to Taylor Swift; they’re all there.
Earlier this morning Timbaland stopped by “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” to premiere the first single to the follow-up of 2007′s Shock Value, Shock Value 2. The single features Timbaland’s artst, SoShy, who is from Paris, France.
It appears this really is the second-coming of Shock Value because if this single is a start of how this album will sound then we’re in for some club bangas. “Morning After Dark” does not catch us as amazing at first but after each new listen we like it more and more. Our favorite parts are the hook and the instrumentation breakdown near the end; bass banga! Let’s hope SoShy does not fade into the darkness like other Timbaland artists i.e. Bubba Sparxxx, Petey Pablo, Sebastian, Magoo, D.O.E., Ms. Jade…
Gregg Gillis b.k.a. Girl Talkis a biomedical engineer by day and mash-up king at night, and on weekends and holidays dropped his job as a biomedical engineer to take on mixing and performing full time.. He’s made a few LP’s taking some of the best music from the Top 40 radio stations and filters them then digitally sews them together to create some serious mash-up styled remixes. He’s been doing his thing since 2002 and has gathered quite the following.
Well his latest LP was released about a year ago so why are we just posting it? Well watching a few videos on youtube; some fashion shows (some of them have the best music) we came across this song that was a mash-up for sure. We couldn’t find it anywhere so finally after getting assistance we were able to find it. That would be “Give Me a Beat” from Feed the Animals. That opening of “Turf Drop” by E-40 and “Renegade” by Styx mixed together is genius. So after listening to Feed the Animals which you can download HERE, we checked out Night Ripper. It too is filled with lightning hot mash-ups. AH it just feels good to find what you’re looking for even for something as simple as a song or two. Thanks SEAN!
Max Tannone, the mash-up mastermind behind the first Jaydiohead (Jay-Z/Radiohead) mixtape is back with the second installment entitled Jaydiohead: The Encore. Altogether, there are five new mash-ups of well known Jay-Z and Radiohead songs. Jay-Z and Radiohead define their genres so the great music part is already taken care of so what adds to the listening experience is Tannone mash-up abilities are executed so well. If you didn’t know any better you would swear both Jay-Z and Radiohead went into the studio to lay all five tracks down specifically for this mixtape. Get into this goodness.
JAYDIOHEAD: THE ENCORE

Here’s a spectacular musical piece I came across today at random on Youtube. Unsigned recording artist and composer Jon Schmidt was inspired by his 7-year-old daughter Sarah who loves Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” and thought because of the common rhythm element between that and Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”, it would make for a perfect mash-up. His friend Steven Sharp Nelson (cello percussion) assists him as the perfect element to the song which makes it even more outstanding. Classical music is great! Oh, we also ripped the HQ audio for you all.
