It Rough: Dromomania “Love High” Demo Feat. Jay Complex Leaks

Dromomamnia LP

There was some intentional leakage yesterday as the demo of Dromomania’s “Love High” featuring Jay Complex popped up on Twitter. The unexpected yet exciting collaboration is just a rough cut but once polished and mastered this will be a WINNER.

The production is some sorta subtle electronic heat. Dromomania has a lane of music that we absolutely need in our lives. Oh, can we jump on how Complex sounds over a Dromomania beat: RAGIN’. Look, whoever y’all are, give these potential filled artists a BIG BUDGET and let them make sonic magic.

Karina Pasian vs. Mario: Who Does the Oak Production More Justice?

oak

Producer Warren Okay “Oak” Felder has produced for some today’s top urban artists: Keri Hilson, Lloyd and Chris Brown to name a few. A few years back in 2007 the producer released a production used for Mario’s “Kryptonite” featuring Rich Boy. Fast forward to 2010 and the production is recycled, being used for Karina Pasian’s “Just ‘Cause.” So which of the two singers was made for this production?

Karina+Pasian+karinacdsinglejpgw300h301Ladies first, The young aspirational singer Karina Pasian lays down her melodic vocals over the bass-heavy production. She sings about young love giving her mate an ultimatum stating how she is too young to compromise everything she is.

MarioMario uses the production to sing about relationships using many Superman metaphors and analogies. He confesses how hard it is to stay faithful to one girl; the temptation of all the women is too hard to not give in. Rich Boy adds that extra bit of fire with his rap verse.

So who owns? We’re going to have to go with the original and say Mario makes it one heck of a song. The flow and the harmonizing and the energy behind the song is great.

Tinie Tempah & Kelly Rowland Are “Invincible”

Tinie+Tempah+Shot01057_F1DonRGB

Kelly+Rowland+kellent3UK rapper Tinie Tempah is looking to score a hit on the charts with his upcoming studio album, Disc-Overy, out September 27 in the UK. The rapper is making his sound a little less grimey being backed by a nice melody and having the vocal stylings of Kelly Rowland in a song entitled “Invincible.”

The track is definitely what “they’re” listening to in the UK. The melody goes hard and for a Hip-Pop song, there still is an uplifting feeling. It’s obvious the UK can’t get enough of Ms. Rowland and she can at least count on her album doing really well there.

Ch-Ch-Check It Out, The Explicit/Mastered Of Nicki Minaj’s & Will.i.am’s Single Is Here

nicki minaj paper

check it out minajWe posted this song along with “Monster” HERE and shortly after it was announced that Nicki Minaj’s second single would be the Will.i.am featured “Check It Out.” The insanely catchy song follows the formula of “Your Love.” That formula of making an über radio friendly jam that samples an already famous song from the past. In this case, “Check It Out” samples 1979’s “Video Killed the Radio Star,” by The Bugles.

Minaj has made it clear how “crucial” her debut is for female rappers. From all of Nicki’s reassuring words and the leaks, Pink Friday should be a solid effort. There should be some of the brain-free pop i.e. “Your Love” and then some mind blowing rapping i.e. her verse in “Monster.” Listen to the Explicit/Mastered edit below.

Kanye West Raps About That “Devil In a New Dress”

kanye devil in a new dress

Following Kanye West’s late arrival, we’re posting the second track from the G.O.O.D. Friday series. It was hours after midnight this past Saturday morning, East Coast time, when “Devil In a New Dress” was released.

Kanye West brings back his soul samples for a familiar sound for this new track. Bink! takes on production duties in this one, keeps the vibe chill with a bassline and rolling drum beat. A few have said this song could be about Amber Rose and some who are still stuck on this Illuminati talk is over-analyzing the “sinful” lyrics. The song is another winner for West and it seems this upcoming album of his is going to vaporize the competition of 2010.

NOTE: Oh yea, in case you missed Kanye West’s expressive tweets, apologizing and explaining his acts at the 2009 VMA’s then head on over HERE.

“A Year Without Rain” By Selena Gomez & The Scene

Selena+Gomez++The+Scene+PNG

SG-AYWRThe overly cute Selena Gomez of Selena Gomez & The Scene is about to release the group’s latest single, “A Year Without Rain,” from their sophomore album of the same title. The album will hit stores on September 21. We’ve always overlooked Gomez because she just seemed like one of the Disney crowd aka a Hollywood Records product. Then it finally hit us that she is exactly what we always say the overly sexual female performers should be: class and intelligence over sex and scandalous behavior.

“A Year Without Rain” is an almost perfect slice of Euro-inspired Dance/Pop. The intro sounds a little like Coldplay’s “Clocks” before switching into a euphoric thumping dance beat. It doesn’t take but one listen before you could care less who it is you’re listening to and just realize that this song Rocks, we mean Pop. Peep a preview of the music video after…

“Everything’s Alright” With Ne-Yo

NeYo+2

The anticipation for Ne-Yo’s forthcoming studio album, Libra Scale, is pretty much non-existent and that’s possibly due to the bland and boring material that has leaked thus far. A new leak surfaced earlier and whilst it’s still nothing magnificent it surely sounds good.

The Stargate-produced “Everything’s Alright” has a really nice string melody and relies on repetition to make it way too easy for the listener to catch-on and sing those “OH-OH-OH-OHHHHHHHHH’s.” Ne-Yo really is hit-and-miss with this album, mostly miss but this song is doing it for us right now.

In other Ne-Yo news, he spoke about recently going into the studio with Beyoncé for the her fourth studio album:

“It’s coming along nicely. I can’t speak too much on it, but it’s another direction for her, and she’s carving out her own niche. In a minute nobody will be in Beyonce’s lane. They really can’t get in her lane now, but they really can’t get in her lane after this album.”

Ne-Yo is partially responsible for Beyoncé’s #1 hit, “Irreplaceable,” so maybe they’ll work the magic again. As for Beyoncé being in her own lane, just READ HERE.

Lady GaGa’s 3rd Studio Album To Be Executive-Produced by Fernando Garibay

lady gaga cooking

It may be four entire months until Lady GaGa reveals the title of her third studio album on New Year’s Day but that isn’t stopping the information from rolling out. It is now known that Fernando Garibay will executive-produce the album.[SOURCE]

Fernando Garibay worked with GaGa on The Fame Monster for “Dance In the Dark.” He may not be widely known YET but Garibay had his productions out on the radio since 1998. Some of Garibay’s productions include Mya’s “Movin’ On,” Ricky Martin’s “Shake Your Bon Bon,” Enrique Iglesias’ “Bailamos,” Britney Spears’ “Quicksand” and “Amnesia,” Whitney Houston’s “Nothin’ But Love” a heap of The Paradiso Girls tunes including his best kept secret, “Down.”

Garibay has an entire other truckload of well known Top 40 songs that he’s either solely or co-produced. We had no idea he co-produced Houston’s “Nothin’ But Love”; we thought it was all Nathaniel “Danja” Hills‘ doing.

After running through that list of songs and knowing the songs he’s produced we could not be any more excited about this album and know that the pair will cook up some GREAT things.

Shakira Lets Loose With Dizzee Rascal and El Cata In “Loca”

sale el sol

Not too long ago, just under a year, Shakira released her greatly overlooked She Wolf album. Now, the naturally sexy international artist is releasing a brand new album entitled Sale El Sol. The behind-the-scenes videos of her brand new single, “Loca,” featuring Dizzee Rascal made its way online and now we finally get to hear both the English and Spanish versions of the songs.

Thanks to Proph we know that song borrows from El Cata’s “Loca Con Su Tiguere.” The song takes us on a trip back to the old Shakira with all its Latin elements whilst implementing new sounds such as Cuban music and the “grimey” Dizzee. The song is a definite winner and further shows off how Shakira can pull off being a cultural artist with so much Pop appeal so well. Listen to both the English and Spanish versions below.

This Spanish version is sending a heatwave through this place, so sexy.
