French Electro Pop act’s, M83, gem (“Midnight City”) has crossed over into the mainstream. The striking tune is featured in the commercial for 2011′s Victoria’s Secret Holiday commercial. The 30 second spot features Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Lais Ribeiro, Erin Heatherton and Lindsay Ellingson. The commercial was shot in Prague… We smell crossover success for the Fench act.
This year’s VSFS (Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show) will have musical acts Kanye West, Cee-Lo Green and Maroon 5. The show is back home in New York, Miranda Kerr will wear the Fantasy Bra and oh, Karlie Kloss is 18 this year so there is a big chance she will be there. After weeks of teasing us, Theodore Elyett’s Lookbook has finally been released AND two weeks earlier than we expected. Oh, we are not complaining, it is absolutely stunning. If only we could look this good out in The Bahamian sun!

Tommy Hilfiger enlisted The Ting Tings for their new fragrance, LOUD. The duo wrote and produced “We’re Not the Same” for the campaign which is more their Rock sound than the electro one heard in “Hands.” The song is also from their upcoming album entitled Kunst.

The people over at Calvin Klein must have been pleased with Eva Mendes because she is back for the Spring 2010 campaign for cK Jeans. Shot by photographer Steven Klein, Mendes and male model Jamie Dornan are greased up and rolled around in dirt catering to that two-word statement: “Sex Sells.”
Calvin Klein have really been turning up the sex notch with their last few campaigns but Mendes is doing it all tastefully. Another tidbit of info is this makes Mendes the third woman in Calvin Klein history to star in their campaign for two consecutive years. Brooke Shields and Kate Moss were the other two. Those campaigns were iconic so a comparison to something of that caliber is not too shabby.
Seventeen year-old fashion model Karlie Kloss has been on the model scene for a few years now and her fire has been burning ever since. This last season she drew many eyes as she lit up the runways for countless designers. Since her awkward debut, her sex appeal has been ever increasing and for good reason; a sexy 15 year old is not appropriate for us 18+ adults.
She certainly caught the eye of John Galliano as she opened for both his show and Dior’s. As you can see above, the first image from her Spring 2010 Dior campaign. The girl is one of the few gleaming stars within that industry of the new bunch. We hope she has longevity because she’s at a prime level for such a young age. A female’s silhouette and walk does not get much more stunning than Karlie’s, check it below.
Kanye West and Bape have once again come together for another season of looks. The clothing label reached out to West for him to be the lookbook mannequin for the Spring 2010 collection. The images were shot by Keiichi Nitta and capture West casually posing in front of the camera rocking the latest hoodies, pants, belts, shirts, and sneakers from the label.
Mark this as the first bit of public work since the VMA incident for West; not including the Jay Leno performance. As for the clothes, it’s a nice update to what was in previous seasons. The Bape hoodies aren’t as popular as they were about a year or two ago and it all comes down to whether the label is your style. Thanks to Hypebeast for the images.
Over the past few days numerous blogs have been posting the photos from the Dimepiece Autumn/Winter 2009 look book starring Cassie as they leaked one by one. Well we have all the images; totaling a sum of just above 30. The Dimpiece x Cassie campaign is a cross promotion venture between the clothing line and Cassie’s upcoming album, Electro Love. Some clothing items, mainly t-shirts, will be made to be released along with the album.
This idea really turned out well. As people are convinced she’s talentless, focusing more on her aesthetic whilst releasing catchy music will most definitely work in her favor in the long run. Look how much it has worked in Rihanna’s favor. Yes, Rihanna is a singer but since the beginning of this year we’ve seen so much of her it seems that she is a socialite who released a few albums rather than a singer with an edgy style. Of course that will change by the end of the year when the music starts coming in.
Japanese brand ICB looked to Terry Richardson to shoot their Spring 2009 campaign entitled “Girls love the Pink Panther”. The implementation of Terry’s photography and the Pink Panther is a proper match.
