Jennifer’s Hudson’s sophomore music era is now in full swing with the premiere of her new single, “Where You At.” The single was penned by R. Kelly and produced by Harvey Mason Jr.
Hudson’s figure may have disappeared but that golden voice is still in tact. This single displays why she is one of the powerhouse vocalists of right now and the future. That’s basically where the greatness ends. The single is beautiful, sonically, but it’s a basic R&B song.
Radio of today just cannot appreciate a song that would properly suit a voice like Hudson’s. At the same time, Hudson’s label did not manage to create a song that could be hummed over and over a la “Spotlight.” All in all, Hudson came forward with a decent R&B single that could have been so much more.
The single is lifted from Hudson’s sophomore album entitled Remember Me, out March 22. Below, is what Hudosn had to say about the new album:
“I’m excited about this album because it’s almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life,” Hudson said in a statement. “My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can’t wait for them to hear the new album.” [SOURCE]
The album will feature input from Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys, Ryan Tedder, Rich Harrison, Ne-Yo and Stargate.
