Since the infamous incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, the mood  shifted and apologies were being made and accepted. Taylor Swift took to the stage last night, not performing her new single, “Mine,” but performing a brand new song addressing Kanye West.

Goodness gracious, the song made a tear fall despite the less-than-perfect vocals. When news broke that Swift would sing about last year’s incident a few hours before the main show started, the only thing that came up was a song of insults. After all, it was reported that Swift thought Kanye’s public Twitter apology was shameless self-promotion. That did not seem to be the case with this new song:

“Wasn’t it easier in your lunch box days? Always a bigger bed to crawl into. Wasn’t it beautiful when you believed in everything, and everybody believed in you? It’s alright, just wait and see, your string of lights are still bright to me. Who you are is now where you’ve been, you’re still an innocent.” [SOURCE]

With the video footage intro of last year’s baffling occurrence and the age of 32 being mentioned a few times it was obvious the song is about West. It was a nice thing to see Swift do what she did because there’s no sense in holding a grudge. Everybody move on and be happy and that’s just what the sweetheart Taylor Swift did.
