We posted this song along with “Monster” HERE and shortly after it was announced that Nicki Minaj’s second single would be the Will.i.am featured “Check It Out.” The insanely catchy song follows the formula of “Your Love.” That formula of making an über radio friendly jam that samples an already famous song from the past. In this case, “Check It Out” samples 1979′s “Video Killed the Radio Star,” by The Bugles.
Minaj has made it clear how “crucial” her debut is for female rappers. From all of Nicki’s reassuring words and the leaks, Pink Friday should be a solid effort. There should be some of the brain-free pop i.e. “Your Love” and then some mind blowing rapping i.e. her verse in “Monster.” Listen to the Explicit/Mastered edit below.
