It was predicted that Drake’s long-awaited and much hyped debut LP, Thank Me Later, would have first week sales of 425K to 475K which would bring it to #1. Well the reports are in and the album went #1. So just how many units did the album sell? Take the jump to find out…
The second single off of Christina Aguilera’s Bionic was finally decided to be the über ballad, “You Lost Me.” After the failure of “Not Myself Tonight” it seems as if RCA was completely lost. The uptempos on the album are not great enough to be #1 but whilst the ballads are magnificent, ballads do not do well on the charts. Well they did not conform and went with the ballad.
Of course there would be some altering to the original sound. Departing from the organic nature of the original, the radio mix has a a bit more going on to give it a more dreamy vibe. It does slightly take away from the depth of the album version but not too much to notice. It is certainly unclear what it will take to ignite the fire in Bionic but only time will tell.

If you thought the buzz behind Lady GaGa’s “Telephone” video was monstrous then you have not seen anything yet. GaGaDaily reported today that the once-in-a-decade Pop diamond will reveal the title of her 3rd studio album at 12:00am New Year’s Day, 2011. She will reveal the title in the form of a tattoo on an undisclosed body part. In the latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine, GaGa had this to say about the new single from the project:
“That chorus came to me, like, I swear, I didn’t even write it. I think God dropped it in my lap.” [SOURCE]
An entire 6 month wait, what will the “monsters” with the attention span of a gnat do? In all honesty, she really thinks this 3rd album is the one and she wants the full promotion circus to be there for it all. Leave it to Lady GaGa to start off the new year with herself as the main attraction. Our only gripe is, another tattoo, doesn’t she have enough already?
Side note: When we stated once-in-a-decade Pop diamond we meant just that. It seems every decade there seems to be a defining act in Pop music; a performer that bursts onto the scene n remains there. Last decade it was Britney Spears and this decade it’s GaGa, any objections?
So by now you Kylie Minogue fans should have heard the megamix and album sampler of Aphrodite. The album is “blippin’” amazing, all uptempos, perfect for the summer and all things fun. Amongst all those gems there is one that shines just a little more than the rest. We’re speaking about “Too Much.”
“Too Much” is the Jake Shears and Calvin Harris contribution of the album. Do you hear how that snippet starts off? The song is nothing but sheer euphoria. It’s funny because quite a few who have listened to this snippet thinks this is the worst song. How odd, some think it’s one of the best if not the best and others think it’s just horrible. *Taps foot uncontrollably until the full version arrives* Listen below!

Nicki Minaj, those voices, those expressions, ridiculous and funny all at once…
The guys of Maroon 5 are back with a brand new single entitled “Misery.” This is the first since their 2007 release, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long. Their forthcoming album, Hands All Over, is out September 21 with the video already shot and ready to be released.
The guys are back with their signature live band sound and quirky melodies. “Misery” does not stray too far from what Maroon 5 listeners are used to hearing and it is certainly enjoyable as this song seemed as though it was made for the radio without conforming a great deal. In fact this song should chart nicely. It’s not the best thing the band has ever released but it is a nice start to this new album.

On this great Sunday, Fathers’ Day, the Deluxe Version of The-Dream’s Love King leaked a short while ago. After listening through the entire album, it’s a very solid effort, a very good album as a mater of fact. After the release of Love King, the single, we had doubts but the album turned out for the better. Our only complaint is that one of the tracks we were dying to hear from that behind-the-scenes VEVO video is not present.
Track #6, “Yamaha,” sees The-Dream revisit his undiluted Prince influences. “Fast Car”[LISTEN HERE] was his direct Prince ode on his first album and he’s back using a motor vehicle as a metaphor once again. Those synths, those trippy uptempo knocks, the 80′s influence… LOVE THIS DAMN SONG!

For the cover of the July Summer issue of Rolling Stone magazine Lady GaGa poses in a look inspired by her “Alejandro” video. The issue is a double issue but we haven’t seen covergirl or boy 2.
Bra and panties, the times are changing. Just ten years ago that would be shocking but nowadays, it’s the norm. View Lady GaGa and Oprah at the Met Costume Institute Gala 2010 after…
Jay Complex finally releases his street single, “Pinky,” in all its final CDQ glory. We first heard rough cut of the single earlier this year and were pleasantly impressed. The mastering of the single only helps to keep the opinion positive.
“Pinky” has a soulful and throwback production. Complex complements the production and he flows in a zig-zag style. Complex has grown a great deal since first hearing him last year. Like we said, instead of being able to tell his influences right away he’s managed to make them all his own and stamp it with Jay Complex.
