It turns out hat the punk rock “Born Free” will not be the leading single from M.I.A.’s still untitled album:

“I just feel like ‘XXXO’—it is what it is,” she told Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1. “It’s kinda [about] being disconnected in L.A. and not having cell phone service or just not being able to kinda leave there for 18 months.” [SOURCE]

The video for the single will be shot by Hype Williams and the single will be released on iTunes on May 11. This means it will definitely leak next week. We’re excited ’cause we were BOORRRNNN FREEE.
