M.I.A.’s viral video for “Born Free” has shocked, entertained and just downright left some people with questions within in the last few days since its premiere. The director behind the video, Romain Gavras, also directed Justice’s “Stress” video. A few other blogs are picking up on the similarities as well.

Tennman Records’ Dutch signee, Esmée Denters, has yet to hit mainstream success, or become a popstar. After an appearance on Oprah and having Justin Timberlake as a mentor, her “career” is almost at a stand still, with nothing going on for her in the US.
It seems as if they’re giving it another go as Denters’ “Love Dealer” is the first international single to be released almost a year later. The Justin Timberlake assisted single has a deep funky bassline and is overall a great pop single.
The video is an urban setting starting on a rooftop and ending with a crowd of people on the street. The video is nothing spectacular but is decent and Timberlake makes a visual appearance to help his signee along.
Justin Timberlake’a little appearances in these songs is nowhere as great as his solo efforts. C’mon Timberlake, we want to the third solo LP.
Last Friday, the leak of M.I.A.’s first single, “Born Free,” left many fans with smiles and frowns due to the left turn in her sound. The song had a definite hyper punk rock feel, lots of aggression.
Today the almost 9 minute viral video for the single hit the net and after viewing the video it seems as though the song was made for the video instead of the other way around. They song sets the perfect mood for all the graphic violence which almost comes as a shock.

Out with the electro Kanye, in with the Hip-Hop West. It seems that some sneaky snake recorded a snippet from what may be some new material for Kanye West’s forthcoming Hip-Hop album, Good Ass Job. The song rudely titled, “F***ing With Me,” displays the more urban West which the majority of his listeners seem to be comfortable with.
The production is bananas but what do you expect from the narcissist perfectionist. The lyrics on the other hand are a bit too repetitive and meaningless but that means it will cater to the radio and clubs. We really are excited for this album.
