From the The Bahamas to Atlanta and back and forth, Alex Christie has been working hard to put the fire behind her singing career. Dallas Austin has taken the young lady under his wings to hopefully shape and form her into a musician first, then a star.
Christie has released a few songs to test the waters. The songs themselves have not captured our attention but there’s something deep in there that if crafted right can be an explosion. Get to know Alex and listen to how the average Bahamian speaks; do not get us confused with Jamaicans, please!

um & what exactly is wrong with Jamaicans???? If she’s trying to use our accent what do you expect people to get her confused with?!
Hello there, we are not trying to say anything is wrong with Jamaicans but its just the fact it is very tiring that only a Jamaican accent is what is put out there.
I understand what your saying but in the same light..i looked her up on youtube…that sounds like a fad jamaican accent used for songs…so if they mistake her for a jamaican, its just simple to say no I am not Jamaican but I love the style of music, so this is what I sing…rather than putting a attitude to “I’m not jamaican”…I’m sure you can understand that…
ummm she is from the bahamas and we sound similar to jamaicans she is not TRYING to put on a jamaican accent. i hate it when people think your from jamaica just cause of our accents there are plenty other caribbean countries that have similar accents so dont just put everyone under jamaicans please
Um many people especially from the islands have an accent which is similar but it’s not the same thing. She is not Jamaican nor is she trying to be. She is in fact taking some inspiration from Reggae style of music as most people from the islands… please watch the video and take notice of what she says before judging her.
You say she is Bahamian? Then why is she in Jamaica doing music? She should be promoting HER OWN COUNTRY’S music!!!!
Bahamas is an independent country with our independent culture and dialect.
She didn’t use one “jamaican” word or accent so to speak.
Glad to see ya doing big Christie,
Old QC friend (K)
Anyone that says she sounds jamaican is surely not from the carribs. So to those saying it, get an education in carib speak. as far as her stardom, she is the child of a former Bahamian prime minister. Her father will prob be re elected in a few weeks as his party is leading in the polls. She will deff big up our wibe. Iss like dis, If yall ene no wat dawibe is wit dis gal, jes link up one a da FB pages wid bahamians on it an ya cud see wat i torkin bout. untel den, done wach no faces.
