The video that has brought anticipation back to Pop music in a way that has been missing for some time now is here. As expected, Lady GaGa’s “Telephone” leaked ahead of its E! News premiere. The Jonas Åkerlund directed clip which featured Beyoncé and Tyrese Gibson continued where the “Paparazzi” video left off and mimicked the style and plots of Kill Bill and Thelma and Louise.
GaGa wanted this video to be perfect and in this case it worked against her. She over analyzed the whole thing and went over her head with this video not to mention the song is not even that big of a deal. She pulled out every stop to try and shock us: a censored vagina, thongs, lesbian kissing, murder, outlandish fashion, etc… It just all seemed too much. Don’t get us wrong the video is better than ANY other Pop video you’ll see out there today but it just didn’t blow us away. The whole concept and video was just too much, overdone.
So to round this up, the video did not surpass the anticipation but is a great video nonetheless. Unfortunately, the GaGa and Beyoncé sagas will not go down in history as some of the greatest collaborations in Pop music. We will however give it all up to Lady GaGa for bringing the excitement, hype, anticipation, mystery and suspense back to Pop music since celebs became overexposed because of sites like Twitter.

exactly my words, bad video
The hype leading up to the video was just so immense that she just left all kind of space for it to be a less-than-epic.
