In typical internet fashion the video for Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” has leaked.
YES! Finally the colorful Rihanna has returned: no more gloom. The video plays on the reggae vibes of the song and blasts us with color from every direction in a pop art effect. Oh wait! Since when Rihanna could wine, haha we’re joking but it’s nice to see her doing the dancehall queen thing after so long. As you know Rihanna is NO dancehall queen but she’ll make the average viewer a BELIEVER. This is probably our favorite Rihanna video and this is not us being caught up.
ugh. gotta disagree with most of this. it all feels very forced and contrived, like the rest of her album. the colours irritated me because i’d greatly prefer her to go back to her Bajan roots instead of adopting a very stereotypical Jamaican motif [which seems to be a Caribbean thing to do nowadays, i dunno]. it’s fine to do reggae music no matter your background, but it’s feels soooo fake. i could do without this video.
You make a very good point Lindsay, but it’s Rihanna and , Meaning, she’s a popstar and hasn’t proved herself a true artist. For what it is and from what she’s put out I feel this is her best yet.
