• Ciara Ain’t Playin’ With Y’all, She Be Up In the Bank

  Ciara is looking to bounce back this year after her third studio album, Fantasy Ride, plummeted into oblivion last year; well that was a bit overstated but… On this glorious Sunday a new track from this new round of Ciara has leaked. CiCi is looking to, how do we say, in Bahamian terms, CUT ASS with this The-Dream written/featured and Tricky Stewart produced song.

  The highlight of “I’m Up In the Bank” is surprisingly not the production but actually the lyrics as The-Dream has written some sassy one-liners for Ciara to spit at her those who trashed her. The overall gist of the song is Ciara telling everyone she may not be everyone’s sweetheart but she’s working and making money, respectfully.

  A’right, it’s go time because we now know what The-Dream and Tricky are doing for Ciara this time around and it’s all about urban aggression. There’s no time to play as it is Ciara’s last straw in a way; either she comes through with this album or she’ll have to do some heavy reconsideration.

• Apl.de.ap & Will.i.am Be Workin’

  It’s Apl.de.ap’s turn to record and release a solo album. The Black Eyed Peas member solo debut will come under the title U Can Dream and will be released later on this year. A possible song from the album entitled “We Be Workin’” features Will.i.am.

  The song follows a familiar positive vibe and is backed by a minimalistic yet catchy beat. From the lyrics, the song caters to all those who work extra hard just to get by. We like all the members of B.E.P. so as long as the project consist of effort we will be paying attention.

• Usher’s Raymond vs. Raymond Era Tarnished As More Tracks Leak

  We’re just going to go ahead and say, Usher’s Raymond vs. Raymond is 2010’s Fantasy Ride. All of the album has practically leaked long before the album will hit music outlets. Whilst the album is pretty decent all the anticipation is spoiled.

  Will Usher’s career ever reach the height during the Confessions era or was that its peak? When “Love In This Club” first leaked back in early 2008 we thought hey, Usher is continuing the successful streak then the rest of Here I Stand landed and we were underwhelmed. Rush a year and a half later and the so-called first single, “Papers,” for the Raymond vs. Raymond era hit. The song was reminiscent of some of the songs from the Confession era and we thought okay Usher is cooking again. A few album push backs and countless album leaks later and it seems Usher needs to reevaluate everything musical.

  Take a listen to two new leaked tracks: The Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced “Lingerie” and The Stereotypes produced “Somebody to Love.”

• Crookers Bring Electro greatness With ‘Tons of Friends’

  YES, yes, YES, it’s finally here, Crookers’ Tons of Friends! The Italian electro duo had us hooked when they remixed KiD CuDi’s “Day N Nite” some time ago and since then a Crookers’ produced track did not go unnoticed by us. Tons of Friends is the duo’s debut album and is packed with 22 hot jams;you are sure to find something in there to fit your tastes. From Will.i.am to Pitbull to Róisín Murphy to Kelis and everyone else in between, the album has a feature list that would make many hipsters dribble with excitement. We do not need to go into detail and review this album because it is one scorchin’ HOT album without a doubt. • They Don’t Love Diddy

  A new arrival on the Last Train to Paris is here, or a potential rider. The song is entitled ” They Don’t Love Me” and features The-Dream.

  This sounds like it needs  mastering but besides that, everything we’ve heard that’s meant for Last Train… including the LQ club rips sounds amazing. If the album ever sees the light of day it will have the clubs vibrating with joy, sound systems booming for life and humans moving uncontrollably.

• Fantasia Will “Never”…

  First let’s just start this by stating we made a mistake. When Fantasia’s new single “Even Angels” hit the ‘net the other week we ignored it. Then last Sunday on the radio we heard it and as quick as that we were riding Fantasia’s coattail (listen to it HERE). Now, 4 songs from her recent studio sessions have leaked and “Never” is more like always to us right now.

  The song which sounds like The-Dream & Tricky Stewart could have touched the track has one suhhhhh-weeeett melody. Yea, melody is mentioned a lot around these parts but you cannot deny it can make or break a song. Back to the song, Fantasia is doing her thing with this new album and really is working hard and smart to give the audience a good album.

  One-hit wonders Nina Sky constantly come under the leak attack with no album to show for it. The latest song to come from the back of the studio is entitled “Good Luck.”

  *Nods head up and down* We like this song. It has a slight disco/electro vibe, poking synths and a playful melody; what’s not to like? On a serious note, it would be best if Nina Sky take on Plan B whilst continuing with music because if they’re pouring all their might into having another hit then they’ll go crazy doing it.

• New Eve…

  Look what we have, a new Eve track. After the shelving of her album in 2008 Eve took some time and is going to return to the music scene with her first album in 8 years entitled Lip Lock. It is unkown whether this new track, “White Stripes,” is meant for the album or is just a warm-up round of chatter.

  In the song Eve samples The White Stripes “7 Nation Army” and lets loose a mean “bravada” letting everyone know that she is BACK and is stinging all the competition.

  In other Eve news, it was reported earlier this week that she went into the studio with electro duo MSTRKRFT for her new album. It looks as though her album will be a bit mainstream with a little experimentation with Dubstep as well.

• Attended… Pretty In Pink: I’m a Survivor

  Last night we attended Farreno & Co.’s Pretty In Pink: I’m a Survivor, a Charity Auction benefiting Breast Cancer survivors. Without any sort of bias remarks, the event went off without a hitch and was such a success. The posh event which was held at The British Colonial Hilton consisted of a photo exhibition, performances, fashion shows and more. Everyone in the contemporary furnished room had a tint of pink on them as the DJ Level set the tone in the room with such songs as Alicia Keys “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart” and many other recognizable songs. It was vision of beauty to see all the Breast Cancer survivors in person; their presence was grabbing us all. View images of the event after…

• Leona… “Can’t Fight It”

  Without disrespecting Leona Lewis, it is safe to say she suffered a sophomore slump. When she debuted with Spirit she had us mesmerized. So much that we were greatly anticipating Echo. Then “Happy” was released and that’s when the decline of our interest began. During the months leading up to Echo, a Ne-Yo demo entitled “Can’t Fight It” which was produced by Stargate leaked and was part of the reason we were pumped for the second…

  Today, the final version sang by Lewis leaked and the interest has slightly recovered. The synth drenched – disco fused track actually complements Leona’s voice and doesn’t sound as odd as some of the other Dance tracks on her album. Take a listen for yourself.
