Musician David Byrne and Fatboy Slim are collaborating on a joint project entitled Here Lies Love. The project will be a concept album about the life of the first Lady of the Phillipines, Imelda Marcos. The album is set to feature many artists such as Tori Amos, Cyndi Lauper, Róisín Murphy and Sia amongst many others. The first offering was given away for free yesterday, entitled “Please Don’t” and featuring Santigold.
MUSIC CRACK! The song starts off mellow with its quirky production and Santi’s retro voice. Then the hook comes in and the takes a departure and further continues 3:59 of musical joy. Here Lies Love will be released 23 February 2010 on Todomundo/Nonesuch Records.
