• The-Dream Cries For Christina

  2009 has been a year of love for Terius “The-Dream” Nash. What started as a professional hook-up with Pop/R&B singer Christina Milian evolved into a relationship which then saw an engagement and a marriage of two weddings.

  When The-Dream is on Twitter he floods his followers with endless tweets and tonight he wanted to give back. He promised and teased his followers as he created a new song, “Cry,” in under an hour. He stated the song is inspired by Sam Cooke.

  GET ‘EM NASH! It’s obvious this song is about his wife, Christina Milian. He uses a handful of expletives to express his deep love for Milian. The song is very decent for something constructed within 36 mins and 06 seconds. Listen closely to the lyrics; now that is a man professing his inner most feelings for the woman in his life.

• NCity Is Dancing In the Rain

  The Bahamas’ very own NCity is on their second single which recently went to radios here. The song entitled “Dancing In the Rain” is produced by Sketch and is great song for the radio.

  We just heard the song this past Sunday night on 100 Jamz and we were really interested in hearing who was behind the song. Come to find out, it was NCity. The girls’ lay down some soft vocals over a club ready beat. We felt that “Like Me” was good in the sense that Bahamian artists were doing Pop music but on an international scale it really lacked… “Dancing In the Rain” is not exactly original but this song trumps the former. These girls are onto something great, with hard work of course.

• Alicia Keys Is at Heaven’s Door

  The album that keeps on giving; what is probably the last bonus track to leak from The Element of Freedom, is here. “Heaven’s Door” appears on the Japanese edition of the album and is available in stores now.

  This song, this song takes us there. Some complain that this album is too commercial for Keys but this a well rounded album and she stays true to evolving her sound. The guitar strings are beautiful and her harmonies are warm and make us feel good. We noticed that drums are present in the majority of songs on the album and they are utilized in a complementary way. Give this song a listen!

  Alicia Keys is also leaving this decade with a few achievements. She was named Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop artist of the decade and is #6 on Interview Magazine’s Most Beautiful People of the Decade.

  Wow, has this year flown by or what because it’s that time when DJ Earworm releases his annual mash up of the top 25 Billboard Hot 100 hits. If the song saturated the radio this past year then it’s in this mash-up.

  EPIC! Every year, we listen to his mash-ups and we get this chilling feeling. DJ Earworm knows how to blend all the hits into one massive tune and the caliber of them all leaves us with an overwhelming feeling. We just want to dance the year away.

  From Beyoncé to the Black Eyed Peas to Kings of Leon to Taylor Swift; they’re all there.

  Surf Club is slowly heating up the urban scene. The group consists of four great producers and artists; Hit-Boy, B.Carr, Chili Chil, Chase N. Cashe. A new song from the foursome entitled “Cheers to the Hustler” is now available for our ears.

  If there is a hype surrounding them we can understand why because this as well as their song featuring Brandy is bananas. The synths mixed with the urban flavor is a total ear massage. Lyrically, the content is on point; speaking about sense. Check it out!

• Beyoncé Says She Is Black Culture

  An unheard of song from Beyoncé entitled “Black Culture” has hit the net. It’s not confirmed whether this is a song of the past, present or for the future but one thing is for sure, it samples Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”

  The song just sounds like Beyoncé went into the studio to have some fun; we really couldn’t see this being released, even as a bonus on a re-release. That’s the thing with Beyoncé, she likes to reach out to all races but somehow she hasn’t quite mastered the technique of speaking to them all at once. You know which songs the urban crowd will like, the ones the suburbans will like…Thanks to Proph.

• The VIBE of Amber Rose

  Just when we thought Amber Rose’s stint in the spotlight was over she is apparently still a muse to many. In the relaunch issue of VIBE magazine the bald headed beauty is featured in an editorial entitled “A Splash of Masculinity.” The images are feminine but a side of edginess and masculinity prevails throughout.

  Rose seems like a very humble and down-to-earth person despite her being labeled for gaining recognition for being a Hip-Hop star’s girlfriend. The only thing what takes away from her appeal is that distracting tattoo on her right arm; so cheap looking.

• Kanye West… Bathing Ape Spring 2010 Lookbook

  Kanye West and Bape have once again come together for another season of looks. The clothing label reached out to West for him to be the lookbook mannequin for the Spring 2010 collection. The images were shot by Keiichi Nitta and capture West casually posing in front of the camera rocking the latest hoodies, pants, belts, shirts, and sneakers from the label.

  Mark this as the first bit of public work since the VMA incident for West; not including the Jay Leno performance. As for the clothes, it’s a nice update to what was in previous seasons. The Bape hoodies aren’t as popular as they were about a year or two ago and it all comes down to whether the label is your style. Thanks to Hypebeast for the images.

• Video Premiere: Steph Jones “Little Drummer Boy”

  After the preview the other day, the full video for Steph Jones “Little Drummer Boy” is here. The video was directed by Valerie Babayan and features cameos by Jordin Sparks and blogger B Scott.

  Steph Jones is one of the peacemakers of this generation as the video and song is about marching to the beat of your own drum. Although total harmony amongst all types of people will not happen in the next 100 years, the fact that he sends positive messages through his music is very much appreciated.
