The official artwork has been revealed for Blige’s Stronger With Each Tear, in stores December 21, 2009.
Mary J. Blige has always been great at creating regal looking album covers; at least with her last few albums… That image matched with the new title makes the album seem it be filled with content of depth. One word titles can be extremely powerful or extremely vague and in this case, Stronger was the latter. The album shall be very good based on the leaks and what Blige is capable of.
Can you name one R&B band who’s music and sound is forever timeless?
Well if you guessed Boyz II Men, you’ve guessed right. This Grammy award winning band is back with their latest album called Love. The album that covers old classics like “Misty Blue” and “Time After Time” and also some modern favorites like “Amazed” and “Open Arms”. The album features a collab with pop/jazz singer Michael Bublé on the track “When I Fall in Love.”
Overall, this album brings a Boyz II Men flair to hits and will have you singing from the minute you press play. Purchase HERE.
After many push backs, Kid Sister released her debut album, Ultraviolet, last week. A-Trak, XXXchange, Sinden, DJ Gant-Man, Hervé, Yuksek, and Rusko all lent a hand with production on the LP as well as Estelle, Kanye West, DJ Grant-Man and Kanye West being featured on the album.
Originally titled, Dream Date, the album excluded 3 songs and included 5 new ones. The entire project is filled with many late 80′s to early 90′s electro and pop influences. She mixes some basic singing skills with her femcee rhymes for some club-ready uptempo tracks. The album turned out to be a decent one with some of the songs being repeat worthy. Unfortunately, after the many push backs and lack of mass interest it is hard to tell what Sister’s next move will be. Will she quickly go back into the studio to record her sophomore effort or will she take time to gain new inspiration.

T-Boz must be ready for a comeback, a solo one, to the music scene with this new tune. The TLC member has collaborated with Gucci Mane and Too $hort for “Get It, Get It.”
The song produced by Bangladesh is a head bouncer. This is the type of song for the ladies to sway to and the guys to bop subtly too in a nightclub; a swagger anthem. The song has a very chilled vibe to it. This is an urban offering from the T-Boz and it suits her nicely. We look forward to hearing more.
Rihanna is also on the rounds of promo for her latest, Rated R, which was released yesterday. If you complained within the last 8 months that Rihanna was a mute well say no more because she is doing interviews left, right and center. Rihanna is feeling on top of the world and it shows because she couldn’t give a mess what anyone has to say anymore. Check it out below.
Rihanna also stopped by Hot97 for an interview with Angie Martinez; a very candid one joking about the rumors of her best friend, Melissa, being her lover and that she worships the devil.

Putting all admiration aside, that above has been Rihanna’s best interview. Her laugh is contagious and her conversation with Martinez was like two very good friends having a long chat after being separated for some time.
In some Rated R news, Def Jam teamed up with Amazon to sell the album for $3.99. On her RihannaNow.com the MP3 album is being sold for only $0.99. You can purchase them HERE and HERE.
WHAT! All that promo and Def Jam is still going to these extremities. No lie, the rest of these labels need to follow a path similar to this. BUT seriously we all know Rihanna is a singles artist and not an album seller. This will be Rihanna’s 4th album that didn’t go #1.
We say that so surely because according to reports, Susan Boyle’s debut album is expected to sell 500,000+ in it’s first week alone in the US and 400,000+ in the UK. Whoa! That is extremely great news because we honestly thought her fame and interest was gone just as fast as it came. The question is, will she make a sophomore album and be able to sell as much next time? View Rihanna’s GMA performances…
Now here’s an artist/band you can put in the same sentence as “comeback.”
Sade, The group fronted by 50 year-old Sade Adu will release their first album in a decade on February 8, 2010 under the title Soldier of Love.
To say we are intrigued is an understatement. We did not have a taste for such mature music back in the 90′s so next year we will truly be able to understand and appreciate the music.
We don’t know exactly where these images are from but here are some photos taken of what looks to be the promotional art for Usher’s upcoming album, Raymond vs. Raymond. Obviously, the person was in a photo editing software session and whipped out a camera and took a few snaps of the screen. With all the leaks and poor reaction to his new music it seems Usher has a second flop on his hands.
Drama aside, Usher’s team has come up with some amazing looking graphic designs. We guess putting more art detail into an album cover is really catching on these days.
C’s fantasy woman, Alicia Keys, is hard on the promo trail for her forthcoming studio album, The Element of Freedom. All of that includes interviews, morning show performances, award show performances and more in the upcoming weeks. Her beautiful song, “Empire State of Mind (Part II) Broken Down” was premiered during an intimate performance a week ago. Now the song is here in CDQ.
How much more praise can we give her… this song is so great. The original was more of an urban anthem; Part II is more of a classical tribute. When we listen to this everything is in slow motion; we’re soaring to new heights.
Last week the so-called “official” track listing of Element… was revealed. Well it was pretty much accurate but the real “official” is below. Also, check out three superb performances from earlier today on the Today Show…
1. Element of Freedom (Intro)
2. Love Is Blind
3. Doesn’t Mean Anything
4. Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart
5. Wait Til You See My Smile
6. That’s How Strong My Love Is
7. Un-thinkable (I’m Ready) feat. Drake
8. Love Is My Disease
9. Like the Sea
10. Put It in a Love Song” feat. Beyoncé
11. This Bed
12. Distance and Time
13. How It Feels to Fly
14. Empire State Of Mind (Part II) Broken Down
Many of you watched the AMA’s last night. There were many performances and many opinions. There were the oveRATED and then the downright messy/trashy. Below, you can watch two reviews from two of our favorite Youtubers; MissP and AlonzoLerone. You can also view all the performances from last night HERE.
For awhile now we’ve been waiting for the new chapter of Kelis’ music and today is that day. She returned to Twitter to tell us her fifth studio album is almost completed. The first single “Acapella,” was produced by DJ David Guetta. In addition to Guetta, the album will feature productions by Burnz, DJ Ammo, Boys Noize, Diplo & Switch, and Free School. Here is what she stated on her site:
Well, walking through the streets of NY this summer…I use the term walking loosely…I was extremely pregnant and probably doing more of a very slow creep down each humid sticky block…people had so much to say to me. You know us New Yorkers don’t ever keep anything to ourselves…I was asked if I would ever put another album out. I suppose people assumed after the baby and divorce and all the time I took off (went to culinary school during my break which was amazing and another conversation) that it would be on to motherhood for me. And well that’s true…as I lay here with my perfect little won ton now writing you all this message. My answer was always the same. “Soon come guys” and so here we are. My album is pretty much done. I signed a new deal and I’m madly in love with life and ready to share something with you. My song is called “Acapella” and I wrote it with love and life in mind. I hope that it finds you well and that you love it, cause honestly I do! Muah!”
- Kelis
This song is going to have the clubs going crazy; especially in the European markets. This may be the next “When Love Takes Over.” Way back in February when we heard the snippet of her collaboration with Crookers, we kept our fingers crossed that she would release an album filled of similar material. It looks like we will get our wish.
Kelis has always been two steps ahead of the rest. Unfortunately, she’s not mainstream enough to get full credit for creating a new trend in music. And even though the dance/electro thing is done to death, it sounds fresh and new all over again with Kelis doing it.
