Last week on the 13th, singer Steph Jones released his mixtape lifetape entitled Gravity. We finally were able to sit down and give it a proper listen from beginning to end and what a splash of cold water to the face it was; so refreshing.

Jones takes on music with his own unique style and creative viewpoint and him not being signed to major label is a blessing because he can make the music without any prohibitions. He writes and co-writes all of his music so you know you’re listening to something genuine. Here’s how he put it:

If yall are looking for me to just do R&B you will be disappointed. I love music so I create whatever I feel like. My lifetape “GRAVITY” will have soul, r&b, alternative pop, and even a lil rap talk on it.. One things 4 sure..if I make a difference in one persons life then I have done my job..

So there you have it, a real artist whose not afraid to step outside the box. There are many words we could use to describe the lifetape but here are four that resonate; SOULFUL, RETRO, FUTURISTIC and QUIRKY. Give this ‘tape a listen right away.
