We’re Confused: Which Timbaland Single is the First?

Today the internet has received a double dosage of Timbaland. One shot of music and the other shot of news but the problem is they conflict each other.

Today, it was announced that the first single from Shock Value 2 would be “Morning After Dark” featuring Timbaland’s artist, SoShy. The song was described to be inspired by Twilight and its vampire nature. Ryan Seacrest said the single will premiere on his KIIS FM radio show, “On Air With Ryan Seacrest”, on Friday.

His site claims this will be on Shakira’s US release of She Wolf. Apparently the album was in deed pushed back to November 17, 2009 after the push back reports were deemed as fake. Still, “Give It Up to Me” is not on the final track list and is said to be for Shock Value 2.

As for the song itself, it’s the Timbaland we like to hear. It’s instantly recognizable as something from the super-producer but is a little more refreshing than previous work. Shakira and Timbaland unsurprisingly make a great match. Timbaland productions involve lots of drums and Shakira’s music features many drum rhythms. Lil Wayne is reasonable but he’s just on everything isn’t he? We can’t even catch a break from him to build up a liking for his rhymes. Shock Value 2 in stores November 23, 2009.

UPDATE:
“Give It Up to Me” will in fact be the second single on the US edition of Shakira’s She Wolf. The release date has still not been decided. It also remains unclear whether or not this will make the track list for Timbaland’s Shock Value 2 or not.
