• AMAZING! A Knockout Cover of Jason Derulo’s “Whatcha Say”

  Ever since 2005, a little song better known as “Hide and Seek” has remained a huge part of everything we love about music. It was also the first song that we could remember being drowned in autotune and still sounding like a masterpiece. Fast forward 4 years and Imogen Heap‘s gem of a song received the sample treatment for a song by up-and coming singer Jason Derulo. “Whatcha Say” has swept the US, rising to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

  Now of course when a song becomes popular, you will have many covers by some hidden talent on such video networking sites as Youtube. DCfan4Life did a mash up of VanJess24‘s cover and his own to create 1 minute and 19 seconds of an eargasmic experience. The harmonies in this are MURDER, love it. • Bedroom Banga Alert! Steven Christopher’s “I’m Ready”

  We were over at Toya‘s and saw that Lyriqueizmuziq posted an up-and-comer who goes by the name of Steven Christopher. His single, “I’m Ready” (produced by Sham), is due to appear on his upcoming yet-to-be EP/Mixtape.

  This is a banga alright. The melody is right and the bassline is proper. Christopher is taking on a sexual role and singing some risqué lines about how he plans on landing a girl before the end of the night. Autotune is present through out most of the song but it complements the song instead of harming it. It’s obvious it was used to only add an effect to the vibe of the song because it’s pretty clear that Christopher can sing. We like this and would like to hear some more heavy hittin’ tunes  from him.

• Trick or Treat: Rihanna’s “The Wait Is Ova”

  Here’s a surprise for you all on this Halloween Day. The second single, “Wait Your Turn (The Wait Is Ova)”, from Rihanna’s Rated R has leaked via The Real Crystal Crew.

  What’s goin’ on RiRi? The song is pretty good but still, we’re waiting to be blown away. Well, at least we can say Rihanna hasn’t lost all of her island flavor because the accent is still there, at least in the style she sings. The song is dark, gritty with subtle rock influences. Lyrically, the song is about inspiration; pushing onward to be a champion. All in all we’re not impressed too much with Rihanna this era so far but we’re still looking forward to the album.

• ABC Snags Exclusives With Rihanna & Beyoncé

  Well well, it appears that the ABC network has some serious connections/persuasion techniques because for the month of November they have secured exclusives with the two hottest female R&B/Pop artists; Beyoncé and Rihanna.

  

  ABC must have some close ties with Rihanna’s camp because she is going to be plastered all over the network next month. According to the network’s official Vimeo site, in the form of a promo video, Rihanna will sit down and discuss for the FIRST time what occurred between herself and Chris Brown on Good Morning America at 7am EST the 5th of November and on the following night on 20/20 at 10pm EST.

  We’re not going to lie, we can’t wait for this. We said we were over it but that’s when we thought Rihanna was going to remain quiet about the whole situation. Even though she will probably dance around the truth… All we know is Rated R’s record sales are going to shoot through the roof.

  On Thanksgiving Night (Nov. 26) at 9pm viewers will get a I Am… Yours special from Beyoncé. It will be a behind-the-scenes look into her life and concert as well as a few stage performances.

  This is pretty cool, people can have the choice of watching Football or this Beyoncé special on Thanksgiving night, or both. We don’t expect to see anything too personal or anything we haven’t already seen but it’s still fun to watch. View the videos…

• Video Premiere: Shakira’s “Did It Again”

  The video premiere for Shakira’s international second single, “Did It Again,” just leaked online. This was to be the second single in the US as well but was replaced with the Timbaland produced “Give It Up To Me.” Shakira also revealed to Rolling Stone magazine that the completion of the new single is the reason for the push back of the US release of She Wolf.

  The video deserves some applauding. Shakira is not one who is afraid to do something quirky or step outside the box. She’s never stale nor following trends but if she ever does she makes it her own with no traces of being a copycat. The expressive dancing on the bed was great. It showed the battle that she was having with her mate without being so literal and obviously sexy. She Wolf is a great album and we hope there are many more innovative videos from it. • Video Premiere: Alicia Keys “Empire State of Mind”

  The video premiere of “Empire State of Mind” is here. The video was shot entirely in the urban areas of NYC and directed by Hype Williams.

  Alicia looked gorgeous, of course we have to mention that first. The montage of overlaying freeze frames, the aerial shots, and the focus on famous NYC landmarks really captured the spirit of the song. The high contrast black and white tint was a nice touch but didn’t suit the entire video. Luckily, the entire video was not black and white as the color was restored when Jay and Alicia were on the red steps. Overall, the video symbolizes New York City in a very uplifting way and further emphasizes that NYC is the “City of Dream.”

• Leona Lewis Lost Then Found… One Republic

  This week has been pretty good for leaks because we have a new one from Leona Lewis’ Echo. “Lost Then Found” is the other Ryan Tedder produced track on the album and features Tedder and his mates, One Republic.

  The chemistry between Tedder and Lewis has yet to be recreated since “Bleeding Love” but this is certainly many steps above “Happy.” The piano progression, strings and bass riff makes for a very good pop ballad. Lewis’ and Tedder’s back and forth vocals in high pitch form is some nice ear candy. Echo is in stores November 13, 2009.

  The song we are really waiting for is track #10, which is a cover of Oasis’ “Stop Crying Your Heart Out.” Her cover of Snow Patrol’s “Run” receives endless love from us so we’re looking forward to this new cover.

  It seems Mr. Raymind vs. Raymond is having a serious leak problem as three songs have leaked from him. There’s no confirmation if these songs will make it onto the album but they definitely give us an idea of the level the album will be on. The first is “Daddy’s Home” produced by The Runners, the second is “Blockin’” produced by Tricky Stewart & Jazze Pha and the third is “More” produced by RedOne.

  The Runners produced “Daddy Home” is the sound direction we want to hear from Usher. With it’s deep bassline, urban overlay and sexy lyrics Usher is giving the longtime fans some good sounding but familiar music.

  Tricky Stewart and Jazze Pha take the production credits for “Blockin’”. The song has a late 90′s early 00′s R&B flavor to it with its bouncy beat and gritty synthesizers. The lyrics speak of Usher trying to get pass one friend to get to the other despite them both being physically attractive.

  The RedOne produced “More” is another dance club heavy jam. It’s a pretty good song for the radio but the sole direction of Pop cheapens his ability and gives the liteners a song that will not be memorable.

• Justin Timberlake Carries Out a Timbaland Tune

  It’s been awhile hasn’t it? Of the many studio quality leaks from Shock Value 2, we finally have a Justin Timberlake cut. This one is entitled “Carry Out.”

  Is this 2006/2007 again? Only because new music from Timberlake these days is less frequent but this sounds like a B-Side from one of the better Timbo-Timber collaborations. The instrumentation does have a bit of a swagger but it’s average at best.

  We’re laughing a lot lately… Why does the LQ club recordings of the songs from Shock Value 2 sound better than the CDQ studio versions?

• Video Premiere: Britney Spears ’3′

  The anticipation is over because today millions of fans will see the world video premiere of Briney Spears ’3′. The video was directed by Diane Martel, who’s known for Christina Aguilera’s “Genie In a Bottle” and “What a Girl Wants.”

  NICE VIDEO! Even though Spears’ dancing isn’t as energetic as it used to be she still can rotate and gyrate well enough to get us aroused. The sex level is turned up pretty high as well and Britney just looks good. The video is not one of her best, for sure, but it complements the song well.

  It’s funny though, has anyone noticed how the level of tolerance in television and media has broadened as far as sex and all other things considered vulgar go. Half of the world freaked out in 2000 when Britney donned that flesh toned costume at the VMA’s which gave the illusion of nudity. Now, Spears is flaunting her rear in in lace and a thong and has other females whining up on her. We give it 10 years before you get to saw bare backsides and breasts on television… before 10 p.m.
