After the release of “Obsessed” we lost a big portion in interest in Carey’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel but then her cover of “I Want to Know What Love Is” refunded that interest. A little later we learned that for the first time Carey’s entire album is produced by one team, Tricky Stewart and The-Dream. We weren’t upset at all because we still think Electrik Red’s How to Be a Lady: Vol. 1 is one of the better albums of this year. Today, Amazon provided the 30 second snippets of the entire album.
We’ve given the snippets more than one listen and each time we like them better. The album doesn’t hit us like Electrik Red’s did but this is a good album; better than E=MC². We can see ourselves having 14 out the 17 songs on repeat and “Up Out My Face (The Reprise)” is some banging drumline material. Memoirs… in stores September 29, 2009.
