Last Train to Paris; The Sean Dawn Kaleena Express

Ever since Diddy broke the news about his conceptual album, Last Train to Paris, ears have been patiently waiting to see how the sound would turn out. Then a few weeks ago Diddy collaborated with house DJ, Felix Da Housecat, for a heavy trance influenced hour long sound clip for the album’s mixtape. Then today, over at Proph’s, two singles from the upcoming project have hit the net. Both are by Dirty Money; the group Diddy created for the album which consists of himself, former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard and singer/songwriter Kaleena.

“Angels” borrows vocals from the Notorious B.I.G. It also samples Jay-Z’s “Where I’m From”. The song starts of with a classic urban edge instrumental then it mellows out when Diddy starts to sing in autotune. The Dirty Money girls also assist with the vocals later on. After two listens we are definitely liking this song.

Dirty Money – Angels feat. Notorious B.I.G.

“Loves Comes Down” is an uptempo club banger; it is the urban equivalent of what was on the mixtape a few weeks ago. This song also samples a Jay-Z song; “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)”. The song manages to develop a catchy quality without turning into an imbecilic filler. For a first single this is fresh and unusual compared to “Come to Me” which was a good urban song but wasn’t the most innovative.

Dirty Money – Love Comes Down

Dirty Money is bringing us fresh, vintage, futuristic and everything else in between with this Last Train to Paris project. You’ll either LOVE or Hate these songs but for the most part Diddy is living up to the hype thus far.
