UK house mix duo Basement Jaxx has teamed up with Australian singer/songwriter Sam Sparro for a song from their upcoming fifth studio album Scars.

“Feelings Gone” is an uptempo track with violins, guitar riffs, synths and a booming bassline. Sparro’s voice suits the song extremely well and after hearing two other cuts from the album (not including “Raindrops”) that we considered lackluster we’re happy to hear such a great song. The female background vocals… everything just works with this song.

The video is typical eclecticism from Basement Jaxx. Sparro is an astronaut flying in his ‘space-mobile’ when he collides with an object and lands on a stage with the Basement Jaxx and co., all of whom have their heads attached to puppet bodies. It’s actually a fun watch with the facial expressions ‘n all. The video is just about on the same level on the song.

Scars is going to be filled with attractive features. The artists on the confirmed tracks are Kelis, Meleka, Chipmunk, Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Santigold, Lightspeed Champion, Amp Fiddler, Yoko Ono, Yo! Majesty, Paloma Faith, Lisa Kekaula, Jose James, Jose Hendrix and of course Sam Sparro. Scars is in stores on September 21, 2009.
