Hot97 just premiered the most anticipated song of the week in the urban community 30 minutes late. Yup, Jay-Z’ official first single for The Blueprint³ entitled “Run This Town” with Rihanna singing the hook and Kanye assisting with an added verse just dropped.
Hmmm it’s an alright song nothing to be blown away by; Rihanna’s vocals are still on the same level as they were last year and Kanye’s verse is the hottest part of the whole song. No matter what this will get airplay like nothing else. So go ahead and give it a listen.

Jay thinks he can just release anything and it’ll be a smash, which is kinda true, but it sucks coz the music isn’t as good as it should be. People kiss the ground he walks on and after hearing this I’m back on Games side coz Games “im so wavy” diss was way better than this.
The song is fine, it’s nice, it’s decent, but that’s not enough if you’re putting three of the BIGGEST that are out right now on the same track. You have a legend, a legend in the making, and pops hottest girl, and this is all you can muster?
I couldn’t agree with you more. I just finish telling someone Jay-Z is just too cocky and set in his ways to put in a full effort anymore. I was seriously expecting some radio hit like “Live Your Life” but this is not it; especially with all the hype that was behind it. N poor Rihanna, I love the girl but everytime I hear her it just smacks me in the face with the reality that she is all just a HOT image. I don’t know why I thought what she went through would have put some serious depth in her voice. Still dig her tho.
Point is, Kanye stole the show with his lil verse.
Nice Song, the beat is nice, it is pretty decent.. but Hov is the man.. i agree the song could have been better, but im sure the Blueprint 3 will be a classic!
And Chet.. i disagree…yeah Jay is cocky, but shouldn’t he be?.. Arguably the best rapper alive( he is in my opinion!).. of course you would think whatever you drop is hot. I’m sure thats how any artist feels when the create something.

I guess, but I’m sayin most of the time when a person’s ego is so big they think everything they do is brilliant when it really isn’t. They know themselves as perfectionists so to them they are doing everything to make it perfect when sometimes they have unconsciously lowered their standard.
That’s prolly makes no sense but that’s why a lot of veterans cannot retain the POW they had when they premiered in spite of the fact that they’re not new anymore. They become very comfortable because the hype is on their side.

But upon 2nd inspection.. this song is hot i love the feel of it!.. I listened to it a few times and I’m loving it! The beat is real nice.. it doesn’t overpower the vocals.. I love the chorus is good, Jay’s verses are decent, some good lines, and Ye killed it.
Yeah Hov has done better.. and could have with this song, but its still hot!
